The social media platform Instagram is one of the most lucrative avenues to make money in the digital age.
There are ways to monetize one's Instagram account—become an influencer, be a marketer, have at least 10,000 followers and more to attract advertising.
Quite frankly, it takes some hard work unless one is a celebrity, then the digital world becomes one's oyster.
Earlier this month, the Chicago-based online lender NetCredit released a study that lists Instagram's highest earners from different countries based on the numbers of following and sponsored posts.
The data-driven figures originated from HopperHQ's "Instagram Rich List," which provides an estimate of how much an Instagram ad is worth depending on the popularity of various renowned personalities.
The NetCredit study showed Miss Universe 2015 titlist Pia Wurtzbach topping the list from the Philippines with an average earning of USD3,669,205 or around PHP216 million.
