Drs. Manny and Pie Calayan in London and Spain

It has been an annual tradition for the Calayans to spend Christmas abroad. Last year, they chose Spain. The climate was cold, but it was no problem for Dr. Pie since she can always turn to Dr. Manny for extra warmth. This photo was taken at The Port of Cambrils, a coastal town in Tarragona province, Catalonia.

It has been an annual tradition for the Calayan family to go out of the country. This year, Drs. Manny and Pie brought their three daughters—Hanna, Bernica, andAndrea—to Spain, where they celebrated Christmas.

They did some sightseeing in Barcelona, Tarragona, and Salou. Thewhole family left Manila last December 18, 2008, and stayed in Spain untilDecember 26.

Their next stop was London.

Doc Manny told PEP (Philippine Enetrtainment Portal): "Every Christmasand New Year ay nag-out of the country kami with my family for bonding andbreak from work.

"Matagal nanaming ginagawa ito at madami na rin kaming napuntahang lugartulad ng Jerusalem, Egypt, Caribbean, Asia, Paris, Italy, Romeand United States of America."

But when asked how he would differentiate his last trip, he answered: "Masayathis year [2008] kasi mas grown-up na mga daughters namin at mas na-appreciatena nila ang pinupuntahan namin. Sila na rin ang nagluluto for us. Hehehe..."

Another word to describe their recent travel to Europe, "Malamig!!!"

Headded: "1C sa London at 6C sa Spain. Grabe, four na layers ang damitnamin. Patong-patong, hahaha! Pero gusto pa rin naming bumalik doon, lalona sa River Thames Cruise. Maganda ang transportation system nila dun. Nakaka-miss.Sana, mayroon din tayo dito."

Dr. Pie has already started doing research for the family's next destination this year."Plan namin for the holiday ay sa Germany, like Moscow orJohannesburg naman," Manny said.

So far, the most memorable trip for Manny is Vatican City. "Nakakatindig-balahiboand very sacred, especially nung nakita namin si Pope..."
