Pops Fernandez and Jomari Yllana excited about Missing You concert

"Anything with production, it's Martin and Pops's call. Ako 'yong ano lang, kabilang side lang—technical, PR. But the show itself, it's handled by Martin and Pops, kung ano 'yong diskarte nila," explained Jomari Yllana about his role as the producer of the Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez pre-Valentine concert Missing You.

Concert Queen Pops Fernandez relives her team-up with ex-husband and Concert King Martin Nievera in a concert dubbed as Missing You, which will be staged on February 6 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Aside from the reunion concert of the former celebrity couple, another exciting part of this concert is the participation of Pops's current boyfriend, actor Jomari Yllana, who is one of the producers of the show.

In an interview with the celebrity couple during the Scents for Life event last Saturday, January 17, at Glorietta 5 in Makati City, Pops and Jomari cheerfully talked about the upcoming show. They said that there wasn't any awkward feeling while preparing for it.

Acccording to Pops, "Bago kasi umalis si Martin, nakapag-meeting na kami several times, wala namang problem. May problem kami ni Jom kasi kami siyempre ang nag-uusap parati."

Jomari interrupted his girlfriend and said, "Uy, wala akong problem sa 'yo, ha!"

The Concert Queen quipped, "Kami ang nag-aasaran, alam mo 'yon? But it's good, all is well and good."

Pops went to on describe the concert. "The show, exciting siya. Basta, ibang-iba siya. Siguro, para doon sa mga nagtataka kung ano pa 'yong puwede naming gawin ni Martin, iba naman ang show at iba naman ang concept niya."

When asked about the surprises they're preparing for the pre-Valentine concert, Pops just said "Siguro kailangang mapanood n'yo talaga siya from the very beginning. Kasi siyempre kapag nagso-show ang Martin and Pops, hindi natin maalis na maging very personal siya."

JOMARI AS A NEWBIE PRODUCER. In a previous article published here in PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the former Gwapings member admitted that he needs all the support that he can have since he's new to the job. (Click here to read related article.)

So, how will Pops rate her boyfriend as a producer of the show so far?

"I know for a fact that [it's] the very first time niyang mag-produce," said Pops. "I know he's working very, very hard and extra hard. I think, siyempre nape-pressure siya kasi ayaw naman niyang mapahiya sa amin ni Martin. He's doing a very good job at it."

The Concert Queen added, "Ako rin, minsan nasu-surprise ako kasi, siyempre, minsan may mga certain requests ako, na siyempre may konting pressure on his part, na sana hindi kami mapahiya and sana ito lang ang mangyari. Pero nagugulat ako kasi nagagawa niya at nade-deliver niya, I mean, as early as now. I'm very impressed, I'm very, very impressed. He's doing hard work."

Jomari really wanted to be part of this show not only because of his romantical involvement to Pops, but also because he wants to see his girlfriend with Martin. The actor admits that he is one of the many fans who want to see them perform together again.

The actor-producer said, "I just want these guys to have fun, to enjoy the night, to enjoy each other's company for one night. And we, including me, as fans nila, we just wanna have a good time. And we owe it to them, to the Concert King and Queen, di ba? It's been a long time so we deserve another look."
