Diether Ocampo avoids talking about his aborted transfer

"Kailangang tanggapin mo ang lahat ng pagkakamali, at the same time, patawarin mo ang sarili mo. 'Tapos doon mo sabihin na, ‘Okay, I'm ready again!'" stated Diether Ocampo when asked about his comeback after a short vacation from showbiz following the "transfer issue."

After the rumored plan of Diether Ocampo to transfer to GMA-7 broke out, the Kapamilya actor was rarely seen in showbiz events. In fact, he was even trying to avoid showbiz reporters' nagging question about it.

Two months after, Diether is now often seen at different gatherings. Earlier this month, he was spotted at the fashion event of Charles & Keith. Two weeks ago, he came to support Bench's cause-oriented event called "Pink for Life."

The actor explained his short break in an interview with members of the entertainment press.

"Ready na ako and I was able to contemplate and meditate at the same time dahil marami akong mga iniisip," said Diether. "Nag-reflect ako dahil na-realize ko na, my God, sobrang blessed pa rin pala ako. So, that's the reason na dapat lalo kong pagbutihin ang trabaho ko dahil siyempre marami akong mga taong mai-inspire. I want to continue sharing my blessings to, you know, less fortunate children."

When asked about the "transfer" issue, Diether commented that it was really the hardest part of his career in 2008.

He stated, "Siguro parte talaga ng pagiging artista 'yan, dapat tanggapin natin. Magandang ano dahil we learn from it a lot, e. I'm happy that I was able to bounce back, get up. Nadapa ako, kailangan kong bumangon. No one else can help me but myself."

The 32-year-old actor also admitted that this has taught him some lessons.

"Maraming nangyari, e, so dapat matutunan natin na tanggapin natin ang pagkakamali natin at humingi tayo ng tawad sa sarili natin at sa Diyos. At the same time, isipin na lang natin na masuwerte tayo dahil mayroon pa ring bukas, na bagong araw. May bago kang puwedeng gawin at maitatama mo 'yong mga nagawa mong pagkakamali," the actor reflected.

When asked about the final decision he made about the transfer, the leading man of defunct teleserye Iisa Pa Lamang gave no definite answer.

"Well, as much as I wanted to give you statement, sana pagbigyan n'yo na lang ako. But I will give it to you in due time. So, sa ngayon, I'd rather not elaborate on that. Pero definitely, magbibigay ako ng pahayag," said Diether.

It should be recalled that in a statement following his rumored transfer, Star Magic, the talent arm that handles Diether's showbiz career, stated in a text message that "Diet remains in Star Magic. We trust that he makes the right choice. [Diether] will issue a statement in due time."

Still, he asked not to talk about it yet. "Alam n'yo, kung anuman ang nangyayari doon sa particular na isyu na 'yan... I mean, gusto ko kayong bigyan ng magandang sagot, pero I hope you respect na I want to keep it to myself muna."

The same goes for his new romance.

LOVE, AT LAST? In the two events mentioned above, Diether was spotted twice with a mestiza girl, who was later identified as Rima Ostwani.

Although they were often seen in public together, Diether wouldn't say anything about the lady and the real score between them.

Despite his decision to keep it as a secret, Diether couldn't deny how he feels right now.

"I'm happy," he quipped. "I'm happy that I'm feeling very inspired again and I'm very optimistic. So, parang 'yong ang importante na dapat lahat tayo huwag nating kalimutang magmahal, di ba?"

He added, "Well, nakikita niyo naman, e. I mean, I cannot lie. I can only say na how I wish na kayo rin, lahat kayo nararamdaman itong nararamdaman ko. I mean, it's such a great feeling. I hope to share it to everybody."

Before the interview ended, a reporter asked him, "You found her?"

"It's like God gave it to me," Diether answered laughing.
