Velvet cable channel treats its Hollywood-loving audience, who love the glamorous life, to the first-ever Tribute to the Oscars photo exhibit.

The subjects are none other than our local celebrities, who were photographed as iconic Hollywood images and Academy-nominated characters.

Christian Bautista portrays the titular Edward Scissorhands, while actor Diether Ocampo takes on Marlon Brando's 1972 Academy Best Actor-winning role of Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather.

Pinoy Big Brother celebrity ex-housemate Baron Geisler also joins the pack as the underdog amateur boxer Rocky Balboa of the 1976 Academy Best Picture Rocky. Young actor Enchong Dee plays Luke Skywalker from the highest grossing film series Star Wars.

Young and sexy Anne Curtis transforms into the sultry Satine, Nicole Kidman's role in Moulin Rouge.

Other prominent personalities who were given "roles" in the exhibit are top models Tweetie De Leon-Gonzales as the welder by day-exotic dancer by night Alex Owens in Flashdance; Bianca Araneta as the androgynous Viola de Lesseps, character of Gwyneth Paltrow in Shakespeare in Love; and Bianca Valerio as the fiesty Maggie Fitzgerald in Million Dollar Baby.

These Hollywood-inspired pieces will be displayed on the 3rd Floor of Shangri-La Plaza from February 21 to March 6.
