Gabby Concepcion hopes that his upcoming teleserye Dahil May Isang Ikaw will be as successful as his comeback TV project Iisa Pa Lamang. "Noong story conference, ang feeling na naramdaman ko is the same impact as Iisa Pa Lamang," says Gabby.

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) visited Gabby Concepcion during the photo shoot of his second album yesterday, June 25, in San Juan City.

Although the former matinee idol is not yet allowed to reveal the exact details of his second project with Warner Music, Gabby still gave a hint to PEP. "Basta mga standards 'yon, mga narinig na natin. Of course, babaguhin lang natin ang arrangements. Mayroon din akong makakasama. Hopefully, makakasama ko rin sila."

He added, "Nasa akin na 'yong mga songs. 'Yong mga songs na ibinigay sa akin, puwede kong baguhin, puwede kong dagdagan. 'Yong recording, mag-uumpisa kami this week. Hopefully, by next month, pagkatapos na mabago lahat, kasi pina-fine-tune pa 'yon, e, it can be released na."

DAHIL MAY ISANG IKAW. The actor related that the planned release date of the album would be good. "Kasi next month will be the opening of our teleserye with Lorna Tolentino, 'yong title ngayon ay Dahil May Isang Ikaw," he explained.

Gabby said he felt the same excitement he had for Iisa Pa Lamang when he learned about his next TV project. "Noong story conference, ang feeling na naramdaman ko is the same impact as Iisa Pa Lamang."

Aside from being a new project, Gabby is also glad to star in Dahil May Isang Ikaw because he will be reunited with Lorna Tolentino. He said that working with her again made him remember their past movies together, like Narito ang Puso Ko (1992) and Kislap sa Dilim (1991).

"Nakakapanibago, parang recalling the past," he said. "Kasi kami ni Lorna, gumawa na ng mga pelikula in the past, during the '80s. So, parang, 'Aba, akala mo during the '80s ang ginawa natin.' Mayroon na kaming mga eksena ni Lorna pero wala pa kaming mga eksena na mabibigat. Very light pa lang ang mga scenes namin, may mga flashback pa nga, e."

Gabby said that still more things will happen in their teleserye. He also hopes that this will be a big hit, just like his first TV series after his return from the United States last year.

WORKING WITH ANGELICA. PEP also asked Gabby about his movie with celebrity couple Angelica Panganiban and Derek Ramsay, titled I Love You, Goodbye. The former matinee idol said that the movie's plot can be likened to the Hollywood film Unfaithful but with a different twist.

He admitted that he had an intimate scene with Angelica. "Medyo hot, sabi nga nila," Gabby said.

What did he feel while doing those scenes with Angelica?

"Naninibago nga ako dahil medyo matagal na akong hindi gumagawa ng eksena. Kaya lang, sa mga eksenang ganun, walang workshop."

Gabby agreed to what Angelica said in her previous interview with PEP that there were no more "ilang" moments while filming their scenes. (Click here to read related article)

"Naging close na kami, e, [sa Iisa Pa Lamang]," he related. "Palabiro din si Angelica, masarap kausap. There's no dull moment sa set. Kaya wala nang workshop, kasi nagkaroon na ng openness, na-break na ang ice. Wala na 'yong parang ilang. Masaya, madali na lang, nag-enjoy kami."

REUNION MOVIE WITH MEGASTAR. Since he came back, many fans have been hoping to see Gabby reunite with his former wife and loveteam Sharon Cuneta in a movie. This was intensified when Gabby appeared on a video message for the Megastar during her birthday concert last January.

Many people are constantly asking, "When will Gabby and Sharon do a movie together?"

"Hinihintay ko nga rin 'yon, e," Gabby told PEP. "Sana mabigyan ng chance na mapagbigyan din namin sila [fans]. Although, hindi naman ako naniniwala na maninira lang ang ibang tao kapag gumawa kami [ng movie together]. Pero nothing is perfect, e, there's no bullet-proof [project]. Maaaring magkaroon pa rin ng intriga sa anggulong 'yon. Pero ako, I want to go beyond that. I want to give back to those people who want to watch us again."

Will this project be okay with his wife, Genevieve "Ginbee" Yatco Gonzalez?

Gabby answered, "Nakausap ko na rin naman ang wife ko and she's okay with it. On my part, our part, we are prepared for the events like this to happen. So, we're okay na already."

It was reported recently that the Megastar was already offered by Regal matriarch Lily Monteverde to do Mano Po 6: My Mother, which will be the official entry of Regal Films for the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival. Is there a possibility for Gabby to appear in this movie, just like his cameo role in Sharon and Ai-Ai delas Alas's movie BFF?

"Wala pa naman sinasabi sa akin. Pero ang alam ko, meron din akong entry [sa MMFF], e," he replied.
