In an interview with Nelson Canlas of GMA News, the Adik Sa 'Yo actor recalled the painful incident.
Dennis clarified that JB actually drowned, contrary to earlier reports that his companion's head slammed into the rocks.
Dennis got deep cuts and bruises from the incident, while Max was able to get out of the water just before the waves hit them.
Remembering what happened, Max said, "I was in the state of panic talaga. Kasi, parang I wanted to jump. 'Tapos nagbubuwelo ako, tumingin ako sa likod... So many things crossed my mind, you don't know what to do anymore."
Meanwhile, in an interview with the two fishermen who came to rescue Dennis and JB, they said, "Parang hilo na siya [Dennis], nakaakyat doon sa dulo ng bato na 'yon."
They added that the Coast Guard arrived 30 minutes later. By that time, JB had already passed away.
