PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) received a report at around 2:00 a.m. today, October 16, that GMA-7 talent CJ Muere was rushed to the Ospital ng Maynila in Malate, Manila, after allegedly being hit with a golf club.
DZMM reported that the incident took place on the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Quirino Avenue in Manila.
In an interview with 24 Oras, CJ said he tried avoiding the yellow Honda Civic car when he noticed that its owner and passengers were trying to provoke him. "Humarurot ako kasi gusto ko nang umiwas," he said.
But the car followed, and according to Tracy Domingo—CJ's non-showbiz girlfriend—one of the guys even gave them the dirty-finger sign.
CJ pulled over the car to ask the guys "kung anong problema nila."
The two "college guys," who were identified as Marvin James Silva and John Roberto Altea, are currently detained at the District 9 of Manila Police Station. They claimed that the disagreement was prompted by "gitgitan sa kalsada," and refused to issue any more statement.
PEP called the Ospital ng Maynila at around 9:30 this morning but was told to call Manila Doctors Hospital instead. The MDH logbook, however, did not indicate that CJ got admitted.
A second phone call placed at the Ospital ng Maynila at 10:05 a.m. finally confirmed that CJ was indeed brought there for the skull fructure and wounds he sustained.
The hospital's telephone operator, who refused to give her name, mentioned that CJ was already discharged at the time of our phone call, but she declined to give further information.
CJ, whose full name is Caesar Joseph L. Muere, joined season two of the reality-based talent search show StarStruck in 2004 where he ended up as a runner-up winner to Mike Tan. CJ played Angel Locsin's sidekick Ding in the 2005 television adaptation of Darna.
