Kailangan kukuha ka talaga ng secure ako," stated comedienne Pokwang about what's keeping her from getting into a relationship.

She's seen on television giving joy and laughter to televiewers and the studio audience of Wowowee. However, behind Pokwang's comedic acts is some seriousness she learned from her experiences in life.

Pokwang, or Marietta Subong in real life, became emotional when asked about the reason for her perseverance. The comedienne-TV host couldn't help crying during the media junket prepared for her newest weekly show Your Song Presents: Love You, Love Me yesterday, February 1, at the Gazebo Royale on Visayas Avenue, Quezon City.

As she continued, her tears started to flow.

The press conference also served as a thanksgiving since Pokwang is very grateful for all the blessings she has received over her six years in show business.

As a celebrity, the 49-year-old comedienne has already experienced almost everything in show business—being part of the movies, hosting a successful TV show, and becoming a product endorser. However, for someone who has been in the industry for a long time, there's only one thing missing—a launching movie.

Although there have been previous talks about it, nothing was finalized. But Pokwang does not mind this at all.

So, kung wala pa talagang movie, okay lang, hindi ako nagmamadali," she told PEP.

SIGNIFICANT OTHER. While Pokwang is enjoying all the opportunities coming her way, she admits that this is the exact opposite of the status of her lovelife.

When asked what more could she ask for in life, she blurted, "Asawa." And then she quickly added, "Pero sabi nga nila Manay Ethel [Ramos, entertainment columnist], 'huwag magmadali, may darating para sa 'yo. Kusang babagsak sa harapan mo.'"

Although she's entertaining two foreign suitors right now on the 'Net, Pokwang feels that the right man for her has yet to come.

"Parang napi-feel ko, hindi pa. Parang ine-enjoy ko pa ang trabaho ko nang bonggang-bongga, kaya parang hindi pa siguro," she said.

Pokwang also admits that she learned a lot from her past relationships.

Instead of giving everything to her partner, Pokwang learned to focus on her family.

POKWANG'S IDEAL MAN. When it comes to finding the man in her life, the comedienne looks for only a few qualifications.

And most of all, as a comedienne, Pokwang wants her future partner to be understanding about her job.
