Newly crowned WBO Female Super Bantamweight World Champion Ana "The Hurricane" Julaton came home to a hero's welcome at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport early Monday, July 12, morning (Manila time).

Julaton, wearing a "Proud to be Kapuso" shirt, was welcomed by GMA Network representatives and a number of local journalists from various media organizations.

Team Julaton proceeded to the GMA Network Center for a live guesting in Unang Hirit, where The Hurricane gamely sampled different Filipino dishes and delicacies, such as the all-time favorite sinigang na baboy and the ubiquitous balut (fertilized duck egg). She also recited some famous tongue twisters in Filipino.

Later that day, she was treated to a hearty lunch with GMA Network chairman, president and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, other network officers, and local sports writers.

She also received a bouquet of fresh flowers and a cake for her birthday, which was July 5, from the GMA vice president and head of international operations Joseph Francia.

The Pinay boxing champ, in turn, presented Gozon an autographed boxing glove to show her appreciation for GMA Network and its international channel, GMA Pinoy TV, which supported her every endeavor.

"Maraming salamat po for giving me this opportunity. It's very memorable. I'm very proud to be Pinay, proud to be Filipino, and proud to be Kapuso," The Hurricane expressed.

After the press conference, Team Julaton paid a courtesy call to President Noynoy Aquino in MalacaƱang Palace.
