"I have lot more fans on Twitter," laughs Kjwan frontman Marc Abaya on his surging popularity as an actor. He expresses gratitude to ABS-CBN for giving him his acting break.

Papunta ng Asian Hospital si Marc Abaya after his hosting chores last Tuesday night sa Dusit Hotel sa Makati sa isang fashion awards nomination cocktails to check on Kwjan manager, Frank Ribano, who suffered an aneurism and a massive heart attack last Sunday.

"I have to be buffed up and gain weight for the movie. Pero with all these things happening, it's Frank Ribano at the back of my head. When you saw me kanina, that was all autopilot. But the band is going strong. We're trying to release the next album. Our goal is to make twenty songs," a worried Marc said.

ROCKER VERUS ACTOR.

"It's a juggling thing," Marc said. "It funny how people confuse both. I started as a musician. I'd like to believe that I'll end as one. All these things that I do, I do it because I love it. The point of all of these is to get people to understand about the music that I do."

"People sometimes say, ''Di ba ikaw yung nasa Habang May Buhay or Pilipinas Got Talent.' That's enough for me. Enough reason for them to check us out and listen to the music.

"It's the stuff of dreams. Being part of the movie by Cinema One is a dream role for me. I just hope I can give 20 pounds of lean muscle mass in a month," Marc said who's going to the gym recently.

FAMILY AS CRITIC.

"Oh my God! They're very critical about everything, especially my father. Like, 'Why do you move your hands too much?' and 'Why did you move you eyebrow?'

"My father is a DOP (director of photography). My mother is a director. My brother is also a DOP. And I get a lot of flack. But I love them to death. They humble. I mean if anyone knows about what an actor should be, it's them," Marc said.

After everything that is lined up for him in the next several months, Marc is looking forward to getting a vacation.

"A vacation would be good," he remarked.

"This lifestyle is very... inconsistent." Marc who was at a loss for words. " For all you know, you get a call within two hours. You get a script at 3 a.m. You have to shoot in Cavite at 6 a.m. I mean, it's very rock and roll. And I love it!

"That's why I have to be on point the whole time. The real actors have been doing this for years. I salute them. I have nothing but respect for them," pagtatapos ni Marc.
