Chin Chin Gutierrez's skin doesn't show her age.
And that's because her beauty regimen includes one important product: A sunscreen.
According to The Merch Manual Medical Dictionaries, the sun is our skin's most formidable nemesis: "Exposure to sunlight prematurely ages the skin. Exposure to UV light is responsible for the wrinkles, both fine and coarse; irregular pigmentation; redness; and leathery, rough texture of sun-exposed skin."
Being an environmentalist, the 38-year-old actress is very much aware of this.
During her press conference for CliniCare, a beauty brand she endorses, she said, "As we all know the ozone layer of the atmosphere has been affected, so, aside from planting more trees and joining to protect the environment...In the meantime, we also have to protect our skin from cancer and all of those scares. So just a simple product like the sunscreen can already aid."
What she likes about the products she's using is this thing called "nano-technology," which is smaller than micro-technology, making the natural ingredients of the product absorbed faster by the skin.
One problem she has though are her burn marks, which she got from the fire accident that also destroyed her house about four years ago.
"May natitira pa...Naging photosensitive na kasi yung mga burnt areas, so every time I'm exposed to the sun, nagda-darken talaga siya. Good thing, they have the product called pixels [a laser machine that heals old and acne scars]..." she related.
Lastly, she's also glad that her vanity still supports her advocacy of "nurturing the environment." The advanced whitening she's using is not just "dermatologist-tested" but also "natural."
The actress will be seen on television again via ABS CBN's Precious Hearts Romances: Kristine Series, which will start airing on August 16.
