"Minsan akala mo perfect na. 'Tapos, may malalaman ka na may sabit pala," Cristine Reyes revealed about her then budding romance with actor Rayver Cruz, in an interview which was aired on Showbiz News Ngayon last August 4 and 5.
Cristine admitted to SNN host Boy Abunda that Rayver had indeed courted her.
"Kasi mas maganda naman po na sa bahay po, dahil at least kaya niyang humarap sa mommy ko bilang tao at wala sa showbiz."
But they later chose to remain friends and Boy wanted to know why. Had they talked about Sarah Geronimo who was also being linked to him?
Cristine answered with an apprehensive, "Opo," and then covered her mouth as if she had spilled a secret.
What did Rayver tell her?
"Marami po," Cristine answered and took a deep breath. "Akala ko that time walang involved na iba. Wala naman kasi akong alam sa kanila. And ako pinakitaan niya na wala siyang..."
"Attachments? Walang relasyon?" Boy jumped in.
"Opo," Cristine affirmed and continued. "So, noong papunta na po doon, meron kaming friend na close sa akin at very close din kay Sarah, sinabi sa akin ang lahat yung totoo. Nag-decide ako na huwag na lang ituloy kasi mahirap lumagay kung may ibang tao na masasaktan."
GREATEST LESSON FROM DENNIS. Thetopic then turned to Cristine's former boyfriend Dennis Trillo.
Cristine revealed that she learned a valuable lesson from her relationship with Dennis.
"Kasi lagi ko iniisip dati na kapag mahal ko, sige lang. Okay lang at gagawin ko ang lahat. Pero hindi pala dapat ganoon. Dapat magtititra ka para sa sarili mo. Pero ngayon, at least, napagdaanan ko na iyon."
Boy asked if she was indeed the reason for Dennis' breakup with longtime girlfriend Carlene Aguilar with whom he has a son.
"Actually, Tito Boy, hindi ko po talaga alam dahil according to Dennis, ayaw niya na talaga. According to Carlene, gusto niya pa i-save ang relasyon nila. So, that time, hindi ko alam kung sino ang nagsasabi sa kanila ng totoo," Cristine said.
Boy observed that every time Cristine is interviewed it always comes back to her former beau. Cristine smiled behind her hands.
"Ngayon na hiwalay na kayo at nakapag-move on na kayo, am I right to say that he was a great love?" Boy asked.
Cristine removed her hands, looked straight at the TV host and answered, "Opo."
PEEVED AND PIQUED BY ZANJOE. Cristine is currently doing Precious Hearts Romances Presents Martha Cecilia's "Kristine" with Zanjoe Marudo.
When she was on The Buzz last August 1, Cristine said about Zanjoe, "Malabong tao iyon." Boy wanted Cristine to clarify that statement.
"Malabo po siya kasi may mga common friends kami," Cristine explained. "Yung mga friends namin na iyon, maraming kinukuwento tungkol sa kanya na ganyan-ganyan, na niyaya ka niya palagi pumunta dito... Ginagamit niya iyon para yayain ako."
"So hindi siya dumidiretso," Boy asked.
"Hindi. So ang labo niya," Cristine said, rolling her eyes. "Kapag 'andiyan na ako, tameme naman siya."
"E, baka naman natotorpe lang," Boy said.
Cristine answered, "Hindi ko alam. Cool siya kapag 'andiyan ako. Kunyari walang pakialam."
But it's possible that he wants to court her?
"Ayoko mag-assume," she replied.
PORK CHOP. "But how is your working relationship?" Boy asked.
"Nag-uusap-usap. Kapag action na, action. Parang kagabi, kissing scene kami. Nagdidirek si Direk Rory [Quintos]. Ganyan-ganyan. 'Magki-kiss na kayo dito, ha.' Nakaganyan lang kami, nakatingin kay Direk," said Cristine demonstrating. "'O, action, kiss!' Ganun na. 'Tapos wala nang talk,"said Cristine.
"Kamusta yung kiss?" Boy asked.
"Ano ba...? Ano yung lips niya... Ano ba 'to?" Cristine smiled and looked away.
In closing, Boy asked what flower she would compare herself to.
"Rose," she smiled. "Mysterious."
"Pork chop," she laughed. "Kasi parang hindi siya pansinin na ulam pero kapag kinain mo siya, masarap siya siguro."
