Andi Eigenmann doesn't mind if people describe her fashion sense as "mukhang basura."
Instead of being miffed, the 17-year-old daughter of actors Jaclyn Jose and Mark Gil takes the barb as a compliment.
"People say I look like basurahan when I go out and I don't look like a celebrity. That's sad but I take that as a compliment because I like being different," said Andi during the Style Soiree of The Ramp Crossings last Monday, November 15, at the Society Lounge in Makati City.
She explained, "'Yon ako, e. 'Yong personality ko kasi ay 'yong laid-back and free-spirited. I don't care what other people think of me.
"So, parang it shows about my clothing.
Andi says she never really plans what she would be wearing on any occasion. And even her mom is perplexed by her on-the-spot choice of clothing.
"Kaya nga before para daw akong mukhang basurahan.
The young Kapamilya star joined other local fashion personalities— Pam Quiñones, Jenni Epperson, Donna Cuna-Pita, and Rosanna Aranas—in interpreting the Yuletide Season through fashion by using the clothes available at The Ramp.
Andi dressed up three mannequins to somehow show how she would want to dress up for the Holidays. "I like texture and color, specifically bright colors. But it's the Holiday Season so, not bagay the bright colors."
For the first one, she put a black sequined vest over a blue chiffon top, which was tucked into a black leatherette skirt.
On the second model, she used a printed swimsuit as an inner outfit to a sequined faux leather jacket for the top and a sweat pants on the bottom.
For the last mannequin, she used a black faux-leather vest as contrast to the cream lace with camisole over a blue jeggings.
"FREE-SPIRITED, FUNKY WITH A TOUCH OF CLASS." This is how Andi described her fashion style in general as she proudly presented to the media her styles for Christmas.
Although Andi does not usually follow current fashion trends, she learned to become stylish when she entered show business. Thus, her phrase "with a touch of class."
She said, "Now that I'm in showbiz, of course, there's a certain standard that I have to meet para magmukha naman akong artista.
But it's not... Now, lagi ko ngang sinasabi it's edgy, funky with a hint of class, of course.
