"I'm glad that I was able to show that even with my fashion background, I'm not maarte," said Solenn Heussaff about the wonderful feedback she received after joining Survivor Philippines.
While she was coined as the Socialite castaway in this show, she proved that for all her glitz-and-glamour background, she's a woman of character—straightforward and determined.
On surviving the Survivor experience, Solenn tells Preview magazine (December issue), "During my first day, and with all the mosquitoes, I really thought I couldn't make it! But a big reason that I was able to do it was because of what my dad told me: You're a Heussaff, you can do it!"
Solenn has won fans not only for her hard work and determination. She was simple, unaffected, and down-to-earth during her time on the island.
What's next for Solenn after Survivor? While there are offers to get into acting, Solenn is also a designer, a makeup artist, and a painter.
Of her art she reveals, "I've been saying this for years, but really, next year, I'm going to do an exhibit of my portraits.
"I'm targeting to do about ten faces. I will really do it."
She also has another promise: "By December of next year, I will be completely fluent in Tagalog!"
For the December cover of Preview, Solenn does global chic in Tory Burch's 2011 Resort collection, flown in from New York especially for the shoot.
