Marian Rivera's climb to success was not easy.

She started in showbiz in supporting roles, and even mother roles, until she rose to fame when she played the title role in the Pinoy version of the hit Mexicanovela Marimar.

Marian was interviewed by Pia Guanio on Showbiz Central yesterday, December 19, to talk about the hardships the actress experienced on her way to becoming one of the most popular actresses today.

BIGGEST CHALLENGE. What does she consider her biggest challenge?

"Siguro ang pinakamabigat talaga, noong bago, parang di ako matanggap. 'Bakit ganoon ang tingin nila? Bakit nila ako dyina-judge ng ganito? Bakit ganito ang intriga, hindi naman totoo?'

"Pero ngayon, deadma!" Marian said.

So, in the beginning, she was still sensitive to these issues?

"Oo, kasi hindi ako sanay," she admitted.

What is the most painful issue about her?

"Dami...napaka-transparent kong tao. Pero dahil kung sino ako ngayon, nandiyan sila [pointing to her fans] at minamahal nila ako.

Has she learned to forgive those who have offended her in the past?

"Oo naman," replied Marian.

"Trabaho lang naman, wala lang personalan... Ibang usapan na 'yon."

MARIAN'S INSPIRATION. Who is her inspiration?

"Dong" is, of course, Marian's boyfriend, Dingdong Dantes.

MARIAN AS AN INSPIRATION. Marian's sincerity and charm have also won the hearts of many, especially children who consider her an "inspiration."

One of these kids was Marie Ablem, a cancer victim.

The child became Marian and Dingdong's goddaughter. Marie passed away recently.

However, Marian is thankful that she was given the opportunity to make Marie happy even for a brief moment.

In a video clip shown, Mrs. Ablem, Marie's mother, expressed her gratitude to Marian.

MARIAN AS "SUPERHERO" OF CHILDREN. As the Super Inday and the Golden Bibe actress continued her story, she became teary-eyed.

It is evident that Marian has a soft spot for children, especially those with terminal illness.

"May dalawang beses, may nagpunta sa akin," mentioned Marian.

"Batang may cancer. Doon sa Show Me Da Money, tapos nawala din.

At this point, John "Sweet" Lapus, one of the hosts of Showbiz Central, joined in the interview.

He disclosed that during the shoot of Super Inday and the Golden Bibe, their movie together, Marian was deeply affected when she learned about Marie's death.

Sweet said, "Nasa shooting kami noon. Nagpo-promo kami nung we heard about it.
