(CLICK HERE to read related article.)
"That's really the plan for Leyte, to make the fourth district of Leyte a tourist destination. That's the faster way to bring up talaga the economy.
"When we were going around during the campaign, we realized na it was a telling sign na walang masyadong foreigners, wala talagang masyadong visitors in the district, kahit backpackers.
"It's a shame because the district is beautiful.
"I remember when Kris [Aquino] was there during the campaign, she was riding along the coast, sabi niya, 'Ang ganda pala ng distrito, para siyang Amorsolo painting.' Everything is so green and so lush pa.
"We really love to improve tourism," saad ni Lucy.
Dagdag naman ni Richard, "Lucy plans to improve one island in our district. So, she's putting up a tourism center in one of the towns.
"There's a place in Ormoc, it's called Lake Danao. There's no improvement up to now. And Lucy intends to... with the P15 million she has. She plans to put up a zipline, a jetty, and at least one for wakeboarding because it's very popular and famous now.
"Lucy is also working on bringing back the airline flights to Ormoc. We lost the flights in Ormoc, and now she plans to bring it back. Hopefully, within the next few months, magkakaroon kami ulit ng flights sa Ormoc."
(CLICK HERE to read related article.)
"It's overwhelming," ani Lucy.
"There are times when you wanna pull your hair out because there's just so many things to be done and you feel that there's so little time in one day. But you know, you do what you want to do and what you have to do.
"Yeah, there's a wish list, but you also have to be realistic about what time and which courses will allow. So, when you stay focused on that and when you realize that, you'll relax a bit and you'll say, 'You know, I'm only one person.' I can do only so much and it takes more than just me to make things happen."
PROUD HUSBAND.
Sabi ng aktor, "We're happy because slowly, our dreams for the district are slowly materializing, being fulfilled, and the people are experiencing a new kind of leadership.
"Personally, I'm very happy kasi aside from being hardworking, she accomplished so much in six months.
"What she did in six months, our political opponent did in 20 years. Gano'n 'yon, it's really night and day. She's really very effective.
"That's why in one of our conversations, sabi ko sa kanya, 'Lucy, in the next elections, you'll have to continue being what you are now.'"
