"Siyempre, it's an honor to be part of it. Sa dami ng mga bagong artists na lumalabas ngayon. I feel proud to be a Filipino at nakasama doon," said Charice about being included in the list of 11 artists to watch in 2011 by Entertainment Weekly

International singing sensation Charice left everyone hanging with her short answer to repeated questions about when she will appear again on Glee.

"Hindi po ako puwede magsabi ng exact date. Abangan na lang po natin. Lagi ko na lang po sinasabi na babalik po ako. So, abangan na lang po natin," she said at her only press conference for her two-day visit in the country last Sunday afternoon, January 9.

Charice was first introduced in Glee during the pilot episode of the show's second season last September.

Charice plays Sunshine Corazon, an exchange student in the U.S. who comes from the Philippines.

She gave a brief description of her character's similarity to Charice in real life.

"Actually kasi yung ibinigay nila sa akin na role, yun talaga si Charice. And noong time na inaayos nila yung character, ako actually ang nag-suggest sa kanila.

"Kasi noong time na nag-aaral ako, mahinhin talaga ako. So, yung character na shy at parang tahimik lang, ganun talaga ako.

"Kaya gusto ko lang ibalik kung ano talaga ako, yung totoong Charice. And nag-e-enjoy ako.

BEING INDEPENDENT. Before flying back to the United States that Sunday evening, she held a brief show at her home province of Laguna.

Enchanted Kingdom hosted her homecoming last Sunday afternoon. The visit to the theme park in Sta. Rosa Laguna was part of her hectic itinerary.

Charice took the time to answer questions of the entertainment media who didn't have an opportunity to interview her the day before.

Last Saturday evening, she topbilled a successful concert together with Gary Valenciano and John Lloyd Cruz at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

Upon her return to Los Angeles, Charice is set to do a show together with her mentor David Foster. She will also be back at the studio recording for her upcoming album.

Charice said that one of the things she learned while living in the U.S. was being independent.

"Since 18 [years old] na po ako ngayon, of course nandiyan naman si Mommy [Racquel]. Siyempre minsan, hindi maiiwasan na mga kapag nagta-travel na mag-isa. Doon ko nararanasan na maging independent. Pero siyempre, may time na kailangan ko pa rin ng tulong."

NOT READY FOR LOVE. Charice also mentioned that she isn't ready to find love even is she is old enough to entertain suitors.

"Siguro, hindi dahil sa ayoko sa love. Hindi lang ako ready. Nag-e-enjoy pa ako sa ginagawa ko. Mayroon time for that later."

She is just thankful for the wonderful things that have come to her ever since she went to the United States.

"I feel very blessed kasi siyempre kasi ito yung dream ko. Yung lahat ng nangyayari ngayon—from album to Billboard, being part of Glee, to be being part of the Top 10 songs.

"Nagpapasalamat lang din ako sa ibang lahi, lalo pa na Asian ako at nandoon yung tiwala nila sa akin," said Charice.

One of the things that surprised everyone was when Charice admitted that she recently overcame her fear of amusement park rides.

"Sobrang takot po ako sumakay ng rides. First time kong sumakay dito sa Enchanted [last April].

"Siyempre, kasi noong bata ako, hindi ako ganoon kadalas na magpunta ng amusement park. I'm very glad na dito ko na-experience yung isa sa mga kinatatakutan ko gawin," she said.
