Geneva Cruz wants to distance herself from husband KC Montero so she can work on her album and grow as an individual. Geneva is rehearsing for a February 14 concert at The Bellevue with Jessa Zaragoza and Jon Santos.

"KC [Montero] is still my husband. We're really good friends. The thing is, we really need time to heal," declared Geneva Cruz yesterday, February 4, at Max's restaurant at Scout Tuazon in Quezon City.

"Tingnan natin if we can really move on with our lives or baka kailangan lang namin ng oras para maghilom ang mga sugat namin. Mahirap sa amin ang mag-heal kasi nasa harapan kami ng madla," Geneva told members of the press including PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

Are they still in love with each other?

"Of course," she said simply. "I do love him. He's my husband. I'm a Miller (KC's real name is Casey Miller) but it's not the right time.

"This is really a perfect time for us not to be together. I really believe that [time apart] will help us grow na mas maayos. Pag maayos na kami as individuals...

"Sabi nga nila, kailangan masaya ka pa rin kahit single ka."

Is she open to getting back together with KC?

"Tanungin mo kaya siya... I don't think it's the right time."

Geneva admitted that she wants to focus on herself for now.

"I think it's time for me to know how to be alone. I don't know how to be alone. I'm learning. I have devoted my time, my life to my loved ones and I don't regret that. But I think I also owe it to myself to find the kind of love I really need."

VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT. Although they are apart, Geneva said she will still receive a gift from the former MTV VJ.

She said with a smile, "Bibigyan nga niya ako ng Hello Kitty guitar sa Valentine's Day. It's gonna be my first electric guitar."

Geneva was previously married to musician Paco Arespacochaga (former drummer of Introvoys), with whom she has a son, Heaven, now 14.

At the presscon, Geneva also said she is not considering divorce.

"I know I love him. And I know that he loves me. But I don't know if we will end up together. Kung ano man ang nakalaan sa amin, I'm ready for that," she said.

When asked if she and KC are undergoing counseling right now, she said, "No. What we need talaga are the right friends to talk to and time. Hindi pa oras."

She stressed: "If he wants to date other people, that's his prerogative. Ako, ayoko kasi kilala ko ang sarili ko. Madi-distract ako and I really want to focus on my work. I really want to finish my album. Gusto ko by summer, malabas na 'to."

Aside from completing her album, Geneva is also busy rehearsing for her February 14 concert with Jessa Zaragoza and Jon Santos titled The Divas. This intimate dinner concert will take place at The Bellevue, Filinvest Corporate City, Alabang.
