Megan Young's style rule: "Well, it all goes with mixing and matching stuff."

Being trendy is not the only way to become a fashionista.

That's the impression Megan Young brings about whenever she arrives at an event. Being a celebrity, keeping up with the latest fashion styles is important to her. Yet she projects her own fashion sense, thus establishing the "Megan Style."

In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the HTC product launch last June 15, at the Republiq Club, Resorts Worlds, Megan shared how fashion trends and personal style can go hand in hand.

MIX AND MATCH. What's "in" before is making their way back to the list of what's called trendy these days.

But Megan says, "Well, it all goes with mixing and matching stuff."

There's nothing wrong with keeping up with the latest, she adds, so long as you don't forget to give your outfit a "personal touch."

"You have the latest trends, but I still want to keep a part of me there. We have the visions of other people, what's in, but [you] always need to add personal touch, because it's a way of showing other people that's the side of you that's who you are."

Once you achieve that, Megan guarantees, "People will always notice what you wear, and go, 'Oh, we know that style— that's Megan's style!'"

FASHION DO'S & DON'TS. All of us have our own preference when it comes to styling ourselves.

For Megan's part, she prefers wearing free-flowing dresses, T-shirts, or the laid-back type of clothes.

Most importantly, she wears confidence all the time.

She explains, "I wouldn't wear anything I'm not comfortable with. I won't wear anything that I know won't show off my figure in a pleasant way."

In choosing a dress, you shouldn't only be concerned about how nice it looks, but also how good it will look once you try it on.

Megan sees it this way: "The outfit may be wonderful, super, but it doesn't look good on me. So why should I wear it pa? Hindi ko na pinipilit."

Her fashion 'do', on the other hand, is plain and simple: "I always wear something I'm comfortable with. Something that I know I can carry it."
