FIRST READ ON PEP: Kris Aquino confirms formal agreement with James Yap on separation of properties

Kris Aquino on endorsing Fiesta spaghetti, which sold over 10 million packs in 2010: "Lahat ng tinatanggap namin na endorsement... pagpunta niyo sa bahay namin, makikita niyo rin there. Kasi, di ba, nakakahiya naman, how weird na sasabihin mo iyon. Kunwari, nagpa-pictorial sa bahay, makikita sa kusina, makikita na wala doon, parang ang pangit no'n, di ba?"

"Can Mama have a boyfriend?" was Kris Aquino's question to her son James Yap Jr. during their launch as the new endorsers of Fiesta spaghetti in North Forbes Park earlier today, March 17.

The famous kid who's now popularly known as Bimby shook his head and replied, "No, ayoko mama."

Elaborating on her son's answer, the Kapamilya star said at present, a love life is the farthest thing from her mind.

"I think ano lang... it's my duty as a mother to fulfill my duties first. And, kung may darating, it will come. Kung hindi siya darating, meron naman akong dalawang boys na sobrang nagmamahal sa akin. And at least may peace of mind pa ang ate ko—si Ballsy, si Pinky, si Viel—si Noy, so ibigay na natin yung peace of mind nila," Kris said, smiling.

When asked if she has already closed her doors to love, she was quick to say, "Sabihin ko na lang pag na-annul na [yung marriage ko] dahil wala naman akong karapatang buksan ang pintuan ngayon."

The annulment of her marriage to cager James Yap is currently in process.

Her most recent update, "Meron na kaming formal agreement sa separation of properties pero kung ano yung nilalaman ng agreement na yun, nasa korte. Na-i-file na yun. So lahat ng aspetong pinansiyal, tapos na talaga."

For once, the usually voluble Queen of Talk did not reveal details because "I'm not allowed to discuss anything regarding the case."

Some members of the press even started mentioning some of their properties, asking pointed questions like "Kanino napunta yun?"

But Kris remained mum. "Na-settle na nga. Hay naku, huwag na nating pag-usapan kasi, lahat ng material na bagay ay maibabalik. At ang importante, may peace of mind. At ang importante, hindi na kami nag-aaway dahil hindi talaga healthy sa bata na nag-aaway ang mga magulang," she said.

In a nutshell, she described the settlement as "maayos, amicable, fair..."

The Buzz magazine editor-in-chief Julie Bonifacio interjected: "Fair ba talaga?"

The host-actress answered, "Kasi ang kapalit no'n I have a son like Bimby. So I don't care..."

MORE ABOUT JAMES. Almost a year after her "it's over" announcementon national TV, Kris's eyes no longer mirror pain and hurt when she's asked about her husband.

What matters to her now is to make Bimby happy.

So, when the editors and reporters prodded her to talk about the new belle of the Derby Ace player, Kris safely said, "Hindi ko alam."

For five months now, rumors continue to swirl that the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) player was dating actress Isabel Oli. Both have consistently denied this.

"Siguro kasi hindi pa kami annulled," the mother of two said before adding, "Huwag na tayong makialam sa life niya kasi ako, ayoko rin naman na makialam siya sa life ko.

"And ano talaga, you know, it's their prerogative. Kasi, kung ayaw nilang umamin, kung meron man silang aaminin, buhay nila 'yan. Huwag na tayong makikialam kasi, ako talaga, parang feeling ko, pag di ko siya papakialaman, he'll be nice to me. Gusto ko maging nice siya sa 'kin para happy si Bimby. Yun..."

Their three-year-old son is presently one of the most sought-after endorsers of kiddie brands. He is, according to Kris, already financially secure.

To those entertaining the thought that her estranged husband would go after his son's money, the Pilipinas Got Talent judge said, "In all fairness to James, I honestly don't think pagkaka-interesan niya yung pera ng anak niya. Mabuting tao naman siya na hindi niya aagawan si Bimby. Di ka naman aagaw sa three-year-old!"

SOMETHING ABOUT JOSH'S DAD. Meanwhile, her eldest son Joshua is graduating this year. With much candor, Kris said her ex-partner Phillip Salvador will not be in attendance. "Hindi ko siya in-invite."

Answering the query of a reporter, Kris cautiously related, "Kasi hindi naman siya talaga involved sa life ni Josh. And, honestly, that's why kay James, super ini-effort ko na huwag kami mag-fight, kasi it's so important sa father to be involved.

"Siguro kasi kay Ipe, too much water under the bridge na, and siguro, nahiya din siya na 100 percent of the financial responsibility, sa akin. So mahirap na to build [on] that relationship.

"Ke Bimby, gusto ko talaga na he grows up close to his father. Importante yun talaga. Kasi, ang hirap na masyado kung ako lang, kasi, masyado akong girl. Si Bim, kelangan talaga ng [father] figure."

But despite the situation, Josh seems to have all the support he needs.

"You know, siguro kasi, from the time my mom was alive, my siblings to my brothers-in-law, my brother to my uncle and aunt sa side ng mom ko, and my relatives, they really made it a point na punuan kung ano yung pagkukulang kay Josh.

"So siguro... Dagdag mo na diyan lahat, si Louie [Andrada, business unit head of The Buzz], si Sweet [John Lapus, Showbiz Central host], yung support system namin, sobrang solid. So, hindi siguro naghahanap si Josh for more."

SO LITTLE TO SAY ABOUT TED FAILON. Also brought up was her upcoming show with Ted, her former co-anchor in ABS-CBN's defunct public service program, Hoy Gising.

She said it's no longer gonna push through, "pero bawal pag-usapan."

The second time she was asked, "Naku, hindi ko masagot. Next question, please. Hindi puwedeng sagutan, next question na lang, okay?"

The third time around, she stressed, "Hindi na nga tuloy."

The press wanted to know: "Nalungkot ba si Ted? Nag-usap ba kayo?"

Her brief response: "Oo, nag-usap kami. Hindi talaga puwedeng pag-usapan, e. Baka puwede pa namang matuloy. Puwede pang matuloy, meron lang hinihintay."

A LOT OF WORK, A LOT TO GIVE. Her aborted project with the broadcaster was not exactly a big loss to the in-demand endorser.

Aside from her reality talent search show in the Kapamilya network, a TV series with Anne Curtis is in the offing.

"Pinagalitan kasi ako ni Deo [Endrinal, business manager of Kris], ang daldal ko daw kasi. Dapat daw hindi ko sinabi na may teleserye with Anne. Pero nasabi ko na so nandiyan na iyan. Pero dapat, hindi pa...It's directed by Chito Roño, but that's all I am allowed to say. Beyond that daw is talagang kakalbuhin na niya ako. So shut up na ako."

At the latter part of the interview, Kris revealed more details, "The roles are perfect for both of us. I'm not allowed to say lang talaga coz sabi ni Deo, matagal pa iyan. Baka agawin pa yung idea pero kasi may advocacy involved dun sa project that is very close to my heart."

How's her movie project with Dingdong Dantes?

"Actually, I don't think I'm allowed to mention it pero since nandito na, di sige na. Sa Friday, may dinner meeting kami with Dingdong Dantes on the co-production. Magmi-meeting pa lang kami—ako, si Deo [Edrinal] together with Dong and his manager Perry Lansigan..."

She has high hopes for the film because "ino-offer din kasi namin talaga na sana mapagsama ang GMA at ABS-CBN."

Kris added: "First meeting pa lang namin sa Friday. Yun lang yung swak na schedule naming dalawa, so, uupo muna, titingnan namin yung financial feasibility... Hopefully, pag Sabado...

"The other thing na lang na gagawin, yun nga, we'll know, based on the calendar of Dong and mine kung kelan kami mag-i-start and kung ano yung concept para dun sa movie na hopefully masali sa next Manila Film Festival."

She's busy, yes. She recently added a brand to her ever-growing list of endorsements last Tuesday, March 15. But she still finds time for charity work.

"Mom always said na kaya ka na-bless sa buhay because you need to be an instrument to bless others. And, totoo naman talaga. Every time talaga na, like yun, nung Sabado, March 12, di ba, binigay ko yung anim na bahay sa Habitat for Humanity.

"And then, honest, nung Tuesday, may bagong endorsement na pumasok. So parang hindi natutulog si God. Nakikita niya lahat. So yun siguro. Kung bad ka, makikita ni God. Pero kung nag-a-attempt ka to be good, kita din niya yun."

In addition to this, it was also mentioned that she already pledged a donation to the "celebrity ukay-ukay for a cause" endeavor of showbiz couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez.

"Sobrang bongga yung donation ko—alahas," she exclaimed.

"Kasi si Sweet, sinabihan niya ako, 'Hoy Ganda, huwag kang magpakabog.' Sabi niya porke't para kay Ogie at Regine iyan, so sabi ko, 'O mamili ka kung ano... kung anong earrings dun ang gusto mo.'

"Si Sweet ang pipili... But I told him meron akong mga ano, chandelier na earrings na may totoong bato."

She said she doesn't mind sharing some of her expensive stuff. "Alam mo hindi ako masyadong attached talaga kasi I know everything is temporary. Yun talaga siguro, and kasi parang... Ang pangit naman, nagbigay ka na, nanghinayang ka pa. Kung binigay mo dapat bukal sa kalooban mo."

MUM ON SHALANI SOLEDAD. Her inclusion in Google Philippines' 20 Most Influential Filipino Women of 2010 was also brought up.

She was second on the list. When asked about her reaction, she said, "Influential in what sense? Sorry, ha, hindi ako familiar with that."

Kris was told Shalani Soledad, the ex-girlfriend of her brother, President Noynoy Aquino, landed the top spot. (CLICK HERE to read story)

But, the Presidential sister chose not to react: "Alam mo kasi, it's very difficult to comment about an ex-girlfriend of my brother because it's not proper. Kung sa status nga ng buhay niya, bawal ako mag-comment, sa ex pa. So shut up na lang ako."

ONE LINE ABOUT POLITICAL PLANS. Lastly, she said running for a post is not part of her immediate plans.

"But after 2016, I don't know, kasi I don't want to run for office while my brother is President," she declared.
