Sometimes, John Lloyd Cruz can't help but complain about his "work load." He says, "Tao lang din po ako." But since he cannot also easily let the opportunities pass him by, he's making it a rule to avoid getting sick. "I should take care of myself," the actor affirms.

This year, John Lloyd Cruz wants to "go back to basics."

By that, he means being more health-conscious, as his job entails a lot of sleepless nights due to long hours of taping or shooting.

At the renewal of his endorsement contract with Biogesic, he tells the media, "As you know, ang trabaho namin very toxic, di ba. We work almost 24 hours a day.

"And not to mention yung stress, yung pressure that you get from every thing... every thing that we do in the business.

"So lagi kaming prone to getting sick, and headache, every once in a while."

He's anticipating that soon, age and stress will start taking their toll on him. That's why, "to start new year, sabi ko, 2012 is all about good health."

NO CHOICE? Time deprivation is the high price of stardom.

"Minsan, itutulog mo na lang dahil yun yung libre mong oras, e, biglang may trabaho..." he says.

And when that happens, "Wala, e, wala ka namang magagawa because it's there, di ba. Hindi naman puwedeng, 'Hep, tigil muna kayo. I don't wanna work with you.' Hindi naman puwedeng ganun."

But it's not as if he doesn't have a choice.

While most talent managers seem to apply the "strike while the iron is hot" policy to their talents, John Lloyd believes in being transparent.

"You have to say kung ano yung kaya mong gawin. So if we try to manage it in a way na talagang makakatulong sa iyo instead of makakasira.

"Hindi ka naman makina, e. Na hindi ka naman robot na lahat ng sabihin, lahat ng inquiry, kelangan mong mapagbigyan, you know.

"You have to accept na hindi ko kayang gawin lahat. Tao lang din po ako. Napapagod din po tayo..."

TAKING CARE OF HIMSELF. Unlike most of his contemporaries, Lloydie is not the type who regularly goes to gym.

"Hindi ko talaga kaya," he admits. "Masyado siyang routine para sa akin."

To stay fit, he goes biking whenever his schedule permits. It's one of the few physical activities that he enjoys, "kasi, I can do it with my cousins, and I can meet a lot of people."

From time to time, he does yoga and Pilates with his girlfriend Shaina Magdayao "to try to strengthen my core."

But he plans to take care of himself more.

"Para sa akin, that's very important, very crucial yun, very crucial part of my everyday life. I really have to take care of myself."

He also to wants manage stress well.

"Actually, to be completely honest, mahirap talaga dahil the pressure is real. It's almost ano, e, tangible...Totoo talaga siya...Nakakaapekto talaga siya.

"It's comparing to something negative so kung hindi mo siya maha-handle nang maayos, it will actually be destructive."

Lastly, in relation to his endorsement, can he cite one controversy "na nagpasakit ng ulo niya"?

A pause, then, a smile...before replying, "Sa sobrang ang sakit sakit ng ulo ko, umabot sa amnesia, nakalimutan ko na.

"So, nakalimutan ko na talaga...[Tipong] natutuwa ka na nakalimutan mo na, di ba, 'good bye to all of you.'"
