The tropical splendor of Malibu beach was experienced in Manila recently as Cosmopolitan Philippines magazine celebrated its 15th anniversary with a grand bash held at the NBC Tent at The Fort, Taguig last May 17.
Cosmo girls and hunks who attended what is dubbed as the “sexiest party of the year” decked out in their alluring summer formals and partied the night away with the showbiz stars and personalities who graced the event.
Part of the celebration was to honor this year’s recipients of the Fun, Fearless Female Awards.
Awardees include artist Dina Gadia, environmentalist Bea Misa, entrepreneur Tamylyn Manaloto, runner Monica Torres, human rights journalist Pat Evangelista, advertising executive Corey Cruz, radio personality Jessica Mendoza, jewelry designer Nicole Wisenhunt, poet Mookie Katigbak, vegan chef Marie Gonzalez, youth leader Mildred Ople, fashion blogger Laureen Uy, singer Zia Quizon, and stellar sisters Anne Curtis and Jasmine Curtis.
Returning editor-in-chief Myrza Sison proudly led the toast to honor the magazine’s successful 15-year run.
“Others try to imitate—but no one can really duplicate—the Cosmo brand and its special place in the Filipina’s life.
“Tonight, we salute the Cosmo way of life and how it has enriched the life of the Filipina, emboldening her to live big and go after her dreams.
“Cosmo is happy to have played such a significant role, not just in thousands of young Filipina women’s lives, but also in our women’s history.
“We look forward to many more years of empowering many more thousands of Cosmo girls all over the country.”
Aside from the ladies, the magazine also honored its “15 Hottest Hunks Ever”— Derek Ramsay, Marc Nelson, Jon Hall, Enchong Dee, Fabio Ide, Hideo Muraoka, Aly Borromeo, Jay-R, Brent Javier, Jake Cuenca, Jon Avila, Aljur Abrenica, Will Devaughn, Rafael Rosell and Paulo Avelino.
Special mention was also given to some of the magazine’s favorite cover girls: Donita Rose, G Tongi, Assunta De Rossi, Alessandra De Rossi, Judy Ann Santos, Marian Rivera, KC Concepcion, Heart Evangelista, Toni Gonzaga, Kim Chiu, Lovi Poe, Sarah Geronimo, Bea Alonzo, Georgina Wilson, Solenn Heussaff, and six-time cover girl Anne Curtis who also appears in this month’s issue.
The one-hour program was hosted by Joey Mead-King. Musical performances by Markki Stroem, Zia Quizon, The Romantics (led by the magazine’s own managing editor Camille Besinga) and DJ Mars Miranda enlivened the celebration.
