Priscilla relates her struggle to lose weight after giving birth: “Then, with the pass of the months, he [John] would joke around, you know. Like there was a time he said, ‘Oh, you know, baby, I love you, bla, bla, bla…my cute butete!’ Sabi ko, ‘Butete? Ano yun?’ So he said to me, it’s a fish that’s bloated. So of course it was a joke, ‘cause John’s like that, we joke a lot a

It was February 6 when former beauty queen Priscilla Meirelles gave birth to her first baby with Kapamilya actor John Estrada. They named her Sammanta Anechka.

Though she remained beautiful as ever, Priscilla noticeably gained a lot of weight during and after her pregnancy.

But her struggle with weight loss didn’t last for long as Priscilla came across a new technology which allowed her to get back in shape without exercise.

She was launched as the newest endorser of Contours and their latest slimming technology, Zerona, last Wednesday, November 28, at Primero Casa Filipino in Quezon City.

Though people expect the Miss Earth 2004 titleholder to always have a perfect figure, Priscilla reveals, she was not exempted from gaining weight.

She related, “Just like any other woman, my body changes a lot. I got really big because of my pregnancy.

“And after that, just like any other woman, I had a hard time, you know, trying to go back to the way I used to look and the way people expect me to look.

“It was a short journey for my luck because I was fortunate enough to be involved and get to know Dr. [Claudine] Roura and, you know, to get access to the technology that Contours has, that’s Zerona.

“And in less than three months, I was able to lose pounds and I still have maybe around ten pounds to go.

“But you know, I’m very happy already with the way that I look right now.”

From 230 pounds, Priscilla now weighs only 140 pounds, and she’s positive, she can shed a little more.

JOHN’S REACTION. Priscilla shares what she and husband John went through as they had their first baby.

Priscilla says, “You know actually, honestly, when I got pregnant, my husband was the happiest man alive.

“He really wanted me to get pregnant for the longest time, even before we got married.

“And then during my pregnancy, kita niya na I was getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

“Not necessarily because I was eating a lot but because there was a lot of water rotation, as well.

“And then when I gave birth, the baby was just six pounds.”

Priscilla admits noticing that she was getting bigger but she had the perfect excuse.

Even after giving birth, she had to feed her baby and didn’t want to compromise her health.

“But again, with the pass of the days, and I was breastfeeding my baby, because I opted that and I put in my mind that it’s only six months.

“So I tried to diet when I was breastfeeding my baby but I was not able to because my baby would feed every thirty minutes, every one hour.

“And ever since, I could not get sick because I couldn’t keep up with the way she was breastfeeding.

“So I was not able to diet. I was not able work out because I was CS [Caesarean]. So I had limitations,” she says.

Prisicilla related an incident which suddenly gave her motivation to lose weight.

She continues, “Then, with the pass of the months, he [John] would joke around, you know.

“Like there was a time he said, ‘Oh, you know, baby, I love you, bla, bla, bla…my cute butete!’

“Sabi ko, ‘Butete? Ano yun?’ So he said to me, it’s a fish that’s bloated.

“So of course it was a joke, ‘cause John’s like that, we joke a lot around with each other.

“And then of course na-hurt ako, because I’m a woman.”

Though it was meant as a joke, Priscilla knew John was beginning to be concerned about her weight.

“And then sabi ko, ‘Don’t call me like that.’ Sabi niya, ‘No, no, no, it’s okay, baby. But you know, you’re kinda big.’

“Sabi ko, ‘I know, but I know I can do it.’ And then he saw me struggle with the whole thing.”

Then she was finally introduced to the the non-invasive slimming treatment.

Priscilla recalls John asking her, “O, does it work?”

To which she replied, “Baby, I don’t know. But I think it’s worth it to trust and to try.”

“So he’d go to the sessions because I need to go every other day, and then he’d say, ‘O, pero I don’t see it.’

“Sabi ko, ‘Baby, wait. It’s not like that. It’s not a miracle that you’d go to one session and then you see, wow, payat na. It’s not. It’s a process.’

The reaction Priscilla longed for came months after the treatment.

She narrates, “So, okay. So of course, he’s very busy, taping and everything.

“Then few months ago, actually a month ago, na biglang he just looked at me and said, ‘Wow! You lost a lot of weight! Sexy ka na, enough na,’ sabi niya sa akin.

“Sabi ko, ‘Wait, wait, wait, I can still do more, you know! Doctora expects me out.’

“Sabi niya, ‘No, no, no, enough na.’ Sabi ko, ‘I really want to go back kasi alam ko kaya ko 'tsaka kaya ng machine, ng technology.’ That’s how good the technology is.”

Aside from his wife getting back in shape, John had another reason to be happy

“Sabi niya, ‘O, puwede baby na ulit!’ Priscilla said about John. “Sabi ko, ‘Wag! Let me enjoy first.’”

“Pero he’s so happy. Basically he’s just like before, he’s just like before we met again.

“Because, of course, as a woman, as a couple, you know, when someone is out of shape, the other part kinda feels like, you know, they feel concerned.

“Then the attraction somehow gets affected. So, of course, now, he’s all over me! Hahah.

“And I just pray, please, no more babies for now. Kasi I want to enjoy first,” Priscilla states.

“Mamaya na lang,” she said, meaning she wants to have the baby at a later date.
