TV5 talent Meg Imperial makes her first-ever magazine cover debut on the FHM Philippines' December issue.
While the young ones these days are generally delving into trivial things, Meg is a different story.
Now 19 years old, she is poised to prove that she is ready for bigger things that showbiz has to offer.
“This is about going out of my comfort zone… Hindi na ako nag-e-enjoy sa pa-tweetums,” says Meg.
Preparation for her first magazine shoot included research on the past covers and hitting the gym.
“I looked at the pegs and checked kung kaya ko ba or hindi… I checked my limitations din. Sinabi ko rin sa close friends ko, parang nag-survey ako sa sarili ko,” she reveals in the interview with FHM.
Meg also shares how she intends to spice up her showbiz career, posing for the popular men's magazine being her first stab at a mature image.
“I wanted to be a dramatic actress talaga. Mahilig ako sa heavy drama. So naisip ko, if I don’t start going for mature roles, hindi macha-challenge yung sarili ko sa pag-arte, at hindi ko matatawag ang sarili ko na artista.”
Luckily, she has been given the opportunity to portray a not-so tweetums character in Direk Joel Lamangan’s upcoming movie Menor de Edad, which will be shown on the big screen in January.
In the movie, she will be working alongside Wendell Ramos, who plays the older man that Meg’s character is having an affair with.
“I’m 19, but I needed to portray a 15-year-old. Medyo mabigat na character siya and sa kanya umiikot yung story,” Meg tells FHM.
She adds, “Maninibago lang ang mga tao sa akin kasi first time nila ako makikita na ganito, pero they’ll get used to it naman.
