Kimpoy Feliciano says about giving gifts on Valentines Day: "As much as possible, yeah, para naman yung babae, di ba, ma-feel niya na special siya, di ba? Pero nandun din ako sa effort, e. Hindi sa materials. Yung parang susunduin mo, ganyan. Paparamdam mo na protected siya. Siguro, yun. More on the efforts."

YouTube star Paulo “Kimpoy” Feliciano is currently in the Philippines to promote his self-titled album under Universal Records.

The 18-year-old singer, who is now based in New Zealand with his family because of his dad’s work, will be staying in the country until May.

He became known online because of his pick-up line videos, earning him almost half a million followers on Twitter.

At the Globe GoSakto event yesterday, February 12, at Hotel Intercontinental in Makati, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Kimpoy about his plans on February 14.

He confessed, “Sa Valentine's Day, wala pa, e... Maybe with friends. Lalabas, siguro.”

Kimpoy revealed that he is currently “single,” “available,” and “looking.”

After two relationships, we asked Kimpoy about the sweetest thing he has done for a girl.

He recounted, “Sweetest thing? Siguro yung parang ano…picnic.

“Yun, parang picnic. Kasi sa New Zealand, hindi siya yung ma-mall, ganyan, yung mga shopping-shopping. So parang adventure talaga.

“So yun, nung monthsary namin, parang I picked a place sa mountain 'tapos parang picnic lang. I think it’s sweet.”

Something like that.”

Kimpoy also admitted to being the type of guy who likes giving presents. He said, “As much as possible, yeah, para naman yung babae, di ba, ma-feel niya na special siya, di ba?

“Pero nandun din ako sa effort, e. Hindi sa materials. Yung parang susunduin mo, ganyan. Paparamdam mo na protected siya. Siguro, yun. More on the efforts.”

When asked about his ideal girl, Kimpoy answered, “Ang hirap, e. Kasi ako, yung mga ideal ko, matangkad, maputi, ganyan.

“Pero sa past relationship ko, ano e, the other way around. Like parang, very Pinay.

“'Tapos hindi siya masyadong… yung maliliit sila, ganun. So parang wala na kong ideal kasi minsan kapag tinamaan ka talaga ng love, yun na yun, e.

“Pero siyempre sa ‘kin, as much as possible, gusto ko Filipina, Pinay. Kasi iba talaga magmahal ang ano, ang Pinay.

“Kasi sweet, ganyan, malambing. Naiintindihan ka nila.”

He related a personal experience: “Kasi nga di ba nakatira 'ko sa New Zealand. So parang nung una talaga, gusto ko...

“Sabi ko, ano kaya yung feeling na magkaro'n ka na foreigner na girlfriend?

“Muntik na. Pero I didn’t push it through kasi nga parang natakot din ako na parang ang hirap naman papasok ka sa isang relationship na parang try lang.

“Parang, sabi ko, hindi rin naman magwo-work, e. So parang gusto ko Pinay kasi nga malambing, sweet.”

SHOWBIZ CAREER. Kimpoy is currently a second year student of Business Management at the University of Otago in New Zealand.

Does he have plans of pursuing showbiz after graduating from college?

His reply: “Uhm, ano e, maybe I’ll talk to my parents about it. Siyempre ayoko naman…depende, depende talaga. Kung may opportunities, maybe.”

But will he stay in New Zealand or the Philippines?

Kimpoy is undecided, “Uhm, ang hirap e. Kasi my friends are here, my lolo, my cousins.

“Family ko lang talaga yung nasa New Zealand. So, kung ako papipiliin, dito talaga.

“It’s more fun in the Philippines! Pero my family is there, e. So family is more important.”
