Regine Velasquez was advised by her doctor to have a "voice rest." But she didn't miss the slumber party hosted by Pampers, her latest endorsement with baby Nate. Though her voice was still "malat," she spent a few minutes talking about motherhood.

Regine Velasquez was still “malat” when she faced the media that attended the slumber party hosted by Pampers earlier, November 22, at The Peninsula hotel in Makati City.

She said, “Slowly, slowly, it’s getting better, actually. Pero, may konti pa rin akong malat. Inuubo pa rin ako. Grabe yung virus talaga na ‘to!

“But, yes, it’s getting better. It’s getting better.

“Voice rest pa rin ako, so hindi pa rin ako masyadong nagsasalita. Sa house, sign language…”

GMA-7’s Lhar Santiago asked the status of her Silver concert.

Asia’s Songbird answered, “Right now, my sister is just trying to fix everybody’s schedule.

“Kasi it’s not just me naman [with] that whole orchestra that’s like 65-piece? So 60 people, 65 people ‘yan, the back-up singers—so lahat yun, inaayos pa namin. And, of course, the guests.

“But as soon as malaman namin yung schedule, mag-a-annouce na kami.”

The people behind the diaper brand she’s endorsing with baby Nate had to cut short the question-and-answer portion.

“Hindi pa kasi puwedeng magtagal magsalita,” one of the organizers said.

But on her way out, Regine agreed to spend a bit more time with the reporters that waited for her.

Laughing, she warned, “Nagkakalat ako ng virus…”

PLANNED TRIPS. Because of her health condition, she had to postpone her trip with husband Ogie Alcasid to Amanpulo, the high-end, exclusive beach resort.

“Huwag ka nang makialam dun,” she quipped.

“We had to reschedule it kasi nga, we wanna do the show again, so we have to postpone it first. Siguro mga January.”

The bright side of it, the host-singer-actress said, is that she’ll have more time for friends and family.

She added, “Actually, okay din sa akin, so we can finish everything…”

What’s all set however is the trip to Australia, where the daughters of Ogie Alcasid are based with their mom, Michelle van Eimeren.

The Kapuso star is excited, especially for baby Nate.

“They’re so in love with him,” she remarked, referring to Michelle and kids.

Before New Year, the Alcasid family will be back in Manila.

DATE OF FREE CONCERT. How about the December 8 concert—is she all set?

“That’s the tentative [date], but right now, we’re still fixing everything.

"And we’re all trying to make sure that my voice would be, siyempre, on top condition na, 100 percent...

“So that’s the tentative [date].

“As soon as we fix everybody’s schedule, talagang puwede na lahat, we’ll announce when the exact date is.”

TV5’s Doods Maglaqui asked, “But you’re eyeing for... before December 25?”

“Ang hirap naman nun, Pasko, concert mo… December 25 Noche Buena fest sa MOA toh?” she joked, referring to the Mall of Asia Arena, the venue of her Silver concert and again the venue of the repeat concert.

Turning a bit serious, she resumed, “I’m trying to get well. Kasi it was really unfortunate na I got it the week of my concert. And, I got hit talaga the day itself. And wala naman tayong laban sa…

“And the weird thing about that virus is, for some reason, throat yung affected!

"Kasi, ang dami naming may sakit, and they all have the same ano—walang boses lahat. Because, apparently, it’s not just us, marami pang iba, so ingat din kayo.”
