"Kanino ba pinakamahalaga ang bukas...tomorrow is most valuable to those who are not sure if tomorrow will come for them," says Carla Baful, one of the two grand winners of C2's Sarap ng Bukas music video-making contest.
Their video touched quite the emotional chord, showing a girl who has a bucket list and on that day, chooses the item "spread good vibes."
She starts handing the product to people she meets that day: a policeman, a neighbor, a street sweeper, a vendor, a cute little boy, and so on.
In the last frame, it's revealed that she has some form of terminal illness and that her tomorrow is really precious, simply because it might not come.
Together with Krizelle Ching and two more groupmates, their video was conceptualized over dinner and finished in two and a half days.
The material earned them the prize of 150,000 pesos, which they allocated for "travel and bills," plus, products.
Carla told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the press conference held last March 13, "Overwhelming, kasi parang we could easily make videos naman.
"Pero to move people, we were surprised na na-achieve siya, more than flattering, it's really overwhelming.
"Videos, puwede ma-corrupt yung file, pero yung na-impart mo yung insight sa ibang tao, sobrang nakakatuwa."
Gharawi Usman of Manila was named First Runner-up. The 100,000-peso cash prize will be spent on his trip to Mecca.
Second Runner-up Chloe Anne Veloso of Cebu won 50,000 pesos.
The other finalists received 10,000-peso cash prize each and C2 products: Annabelle Jane Masculino, Romulo Jose Domagas, Jose Ma. Antonio Gonzales, Geriza dela Cruz, Lorenz Roi Morales, Paul Julius Sy, and Patrick Jason Bayani.
This is the video-making contest's third edition. This year, a special Fan's Choice Award and 20,000-peso cash prize was given to Jeanmehwah Dagum of Caloocan City for garnering the most number of online votes for her entry.
