Staycation like a star this Easter holiday

Wear your silly costumes, meet the Easter bunny, search for hidden eggs, and have the grandest family time on Easter Sunday as you spend it like a star while staycationing in Manila.

These days, when traveling outside the city tends to become more of a stress-inducer than a reliever, staycationing may just be your best option.

While everyone else is getting stuck in traffic on their way back to Manila on Easter Sunday, why not enjoy hopping between these places and events around the metro?

GO HOTEL-HOPPING. Have a classic Easter egg hunt with the family as you spend brunch time at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Manila.

For Php 2950+++ for adults and Php 1500+++ for kids, guests can enjoy global delicacies from the restaurant’s 21-atelier kitchen, as well as special Easter dishes made of turkey and gammon ham, and exclusive sweet treats at the dessert station.

Note that the egg hunting activity is for kids only.

Check into the Zoo Party at the Diamond Ballroom, where kids can enjoy a variety of activities, like egg-painting, cupcake decorating, nail art, magic show, and other games.

Don your best safari costume and get a chance to win exciting prizes, plus join the party-wide raffle where you can bring home a brand new android tablet.

Ticket to the party costs Php 800 per person and comes with a free snack box.

You may also take your kids to an exciting journey deep into the forest as the iconic Manila Hotel holds a Puss-In-Boots-themed Easter party.

An entrance fee of Php 1,500 gets kids into the wonderland-decorated Centennial Hall and take part in the Easter Egg hunting game and other activities.

The main highlights of the event include an acrobat show, giant slide, inflatable playpen, freedom wall, mascots, and a puppet show for all guests.

There’s no time to be bored as kids get busy with arts and crafts, face painting, glitter tattoo, balloon twisting, and playing at the various game booths and activity corners stationed at the venue.

A ticket, valued at Php 1,000, gets one kid and an adult companion in or you also have an option to stay overnight and get a free a ticket.

TAKE A MALL TOUR. Easter Sunday is also a good time to hit the malls as you can easily hit two birds with one stone: go shopping and then use your receipts to take part in the many fun activities in store.

At the Araneta Center in Quezon City, kids can marvel at the various displays at the Hop Up and Away Easter Fair.

The entire parking lot right outside the Smart Araneta Coliseum will be converted into a fairytale Easter venue, complete with balloons, giant Easter eggs, and more; while the Quadrant C activity area fronting the Farmers’ Plaza mall will feature a cool Mad Science show.

Fairground entrance is free. Just show a single or accumulated receipt worth Php 300 acquired from purchasing at any participating Araneta Center establishments from March 15 to 31.

A lot of fun things are also happening at The Atrium of Lucky Chinatown Mall in Eastwood, Quezon City, as games and goodies abound the Easter Magic and Adventure event.

Kids can dabble in fun activities at various themed play zones, based on famous cartoons and merchandise, such as Winx Club, Polly Pocket, Barbie, Disney Princesses, Tech Deck, UNO Stacks, UNO Cards, Tumbling Monkeys, Scrabble Demo, Pictionary Man, and Hot Wheels.

A magic show, meet and greet activity with character mascots, plus other games and gimmicks are also lined up for shoppers who would present their receipts dated March 22 onwards at the registration.

The fun extends all the way to McKinley Hill, Taguig, at the Venice Piazza Mall and Blue Leaf Events Pavilion, where exciting adventures and yummy treats await visitors of Easter in Candyland.

For an entrance fee of Php 550, kids can engage in a friendly kart race, ride a mechanical bull, and play in a giant inflatable play gym from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M.

A kiddie salon and egg-decorating station can also help them unleash their creative side.

Animal lovers will also enjoy feeding rabbits and pigeons, and learn more about animal care through the Zoomanity Group animal show.

And of course, a traditional egg hunt activity to complete the Easter festivities.
