Carmina Villarroel and Janice de Belen prove that bonding with your children isn't limited to a certain age, and doesn’t have to hurt your budget.

It's summer time and the kids are on vacation.

For sure, the mommies out there missed out on their usual fun time with their kids when they were busy with school for ten long months.

So, they’ll definitely be spending every minute with their kids during this much-anticipated break.

Despite this, some moms find it hard to reach out to their kids, especially if their children are already in their teens.

That’s why (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked celebrity moms Carmina Villarroel and Janice de Belen as to how they bond with their kids during the summer season.

HOME BUDDIES. Carmina has 11-year-old twins, Maverick Peter and María Cassandra, with TV host-actor Zoren Legaspi.

Finding something to do with her kids isn't that difficult for Carmina since they're still young.

The Isang Pangarap star says she doesn’t need to spend too much when bonding with her kids, especially with Cassandra.

We talk about everything and anything under the sun.”

But if she has more time, she prefers to “bake kami together, mga cookies, ganyan,” with her twins.

OUTDOOR FUN. On the other hand, Janice loves to spend quality time with her her four kids— Inah, Moira, Kyla, and Yuan— both in the comfort of their home and outdoors.

Now, they have a more special reason to celebrate because three of her kids just graduated from elementary, high school and college.

In Janice's case, she needed to adjust since her kids are in their teens— that "delicate" young adult stage where they're starting to "lead their own lives."

The Ina, Kapatid, Anak star says that “... ang favorite [activity] namin is watching a movie, go swimming, magbabakasyon pa rin kami together, of course naman di ba.

“Especially ‘yong isa ko graduate na ng college, so soon magwo-work na siya. So, hindi mo na agad mayaya ng bakasyon.

“So, as many vacations na kaya kong isingit, gagawin ko.”

Carmina and Janice's experiences prove that bonding with your kids need not cost much nor entail too much preparation.

It's all a matter of managing your time, knowing their interests, and basically just having fun with them.
