An excited Julia Barretto revealed to Preview that gracing the cover of the magazine is one of her childhood fantasies.
This June, Julia finally ticks an item off her must-do and must-have lists as she becomes the youngest solo cover girl to date of the country's top fashion magazine.
“This is so surreal! I have a notebook where I write my dreams and the things I wanna do.
"I wrote there before that I want to be on the cover of Preview. When they told me I was gonna do it, I was so happy and very excited!” Julia declared.
At 16, the Star Magic talent is among the promising young talents cut for stardom. She has a growing fan base online and viewers await her first leading teleserye Cofradia.
SPORTY COVER GIRL. Wearing sneakers, a BCBG embroidered dress, and an L.A. Dodgers cap in one of her layouts, she exuded coolness and seriousness to her craft that seem mature for her age.
In between takes, Julia bared her dreams— inked in her personal notebook— and her desire to return to the world of show business.
She first entered the industry when she was 10 years old, playing bit roles on TV, including a younger version of her aunt Claudine Barretto's character in Walang Kapalit (2007).
After a couple more projects, Julia temporarily left the limelight to focus on her studies, and decided to return only now.
“I’ve always wanted to go back…” Julia asserts, evident that the showbiz bug has caught on her as well, the same it has with her mom Marjorie Barretto and aunt Gretchen Barretto.
She dreams of headlining a teleserye of her own, which is bound to happen soon, as well as a movie where she’s cast on the lead role.
18TH ANNIVERSARY ISSUE. Preview editor-in-chief Pauline Juan shares how they put so much work into their 18th anniversary issue.
“Because it’s our anniversary, we have a spectacular lineup for [our readers], starting with the ingénue Julia Barretto on the cover, who headlines an issue full of up-and-coming names and faces to watch for.”
Julia reveals more of what she wrote in her notebook of dreams. Find out what they are and then some in Preview Magazine's June 2013 issue, available in newsstands, bookstores and supermarkets nationwide.
