If Alessandra de Rossi was shocked to have been nominated twice in one category at the 36th Gawad Urian, she herself surprised the invited guests present at the award show, held June 18, with her new hairdo.
The cropped hairstyle of the young character actress— which she had been sporting since April— was equally a winner, as she bagged the Best Supporting Actress trophy for the movie Mater Dolorosa that night.
When PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked what inspired her to style her hair in such edgy fashion, she answered in her usual comic attitude, “Myself! Wala naman akong peg, di ba? Mukha ba akong may peg dito sa hitsura ko?”
Aside from her new ‘do, the actress also looked glamorous in a black gown by Kim Gan, which she said, “Hiniram ko lang.”
The 28-year-old actress also said in jest, “Hindi ko pinaghandaan ‘to. Nakakahiya naman.”
Alessandra’s other Best Supporting Actress nomination was for her role in the indie film Sta. Niña, which won her the Best Actress trophy at the first ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards in Sarawak, Malaysia..
She was also nominated in Gawad Urian’s Best Actress category for the indie movie Baybayin.
