Rita de Guzman chose the look of the ‘40s as her debut's over-arching theme because she has always been fond of vintage items, believing herself to be an old soul.

Rita de Guzman, once known as one of the Popstar Kids, has grown to be a beautiful lady with a showbiz career on the rise.

She celebrated her 18th birthday in the style of the 1940s at Prime Bar in Quezon City with family and friends of the starred variety.

Her debut was organized by her family and GMA Artist Center, Rita's management team.

Rita came to her own party in dramatic fashion.

She sang a powerful rendition of The Prayer as the event's opening prayer.

This was followed by a dance with close friends and family in a ‘40s-inspired number set to a backdrop video featuring Dolphy in one of his black and white movies.

Throughout the night, the debutante changed outfits three times: The red ball gown for her arrival, a white knee-length dress for her dance number and a lace knee-length dress with an elegant cut-out back for the rest of the evening. Each outfit was complemented by the trademark accessory of the era, a hat, and Rita's signature red lipstick.

The stars who came to celebrate with the young singer-actress include: Rochelle Pangilinan, Derek Monasterio, Mark Herras, Kylie Padilla, Lauren Young, Alden Richards, Gian Magdangal, Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos, Aljur Abrenica, Kristoffer Martin, Frencheska Farr, Joyce Ching and Benjie Paras.

Derrick Monasterio: "Simula nung narinig ko boses niya, isa ako sa mga naniwalang she can make it through, na talagang kaya niyang makarating sa tuktok. Konting push lang, konting sacrifice."

Kylie Padilla looked wholesome and sexy as she shared her wish for Rita: "More success in her career, unahin ang career kaysa lovelife. Siempre, daming manliligaw! Ang ganda-ganda ni Rita, mag-ingat talaga siya sa mga boys!"

Mark Herras donned a silver-grey suit and a Fedora hat.

His wish: "Tuloy-tuloy ‘yung career niya. Si Rita kasi, kahit saan mo siya ilagay, acting, singing, ngayon in dancing, pwede na. Keep up the good work Rita. Sana marami siyang natutunan doon sa first cycle ng 'Tropang Trending' kasi naging ate at kuya kami lahat for her. Huwag siya magbago."

Joyce Ching, who also turned 18 this year, is quite close to Rita.

From Kristoffer Martin, looking dapper wearing a newspaper boy cap: "Siyempre good health. Sana matupad wish niya for her birthday, at sana yung career niya pataas pa ng pataas. At always pray to God."

Lauren Young, Rita’s co-worker in Mundo Mo'y Akin, said: "I wish you nothing but success, sana mag-blossom ‘yung career mo. Just continue to be humble, continue to be nice, and good things will come to you. I love you!"
