As Filipinos extend their support to Miss Universe Philippines candidate Ariella Arida, the 24-year-old beauty queen returns the love by praying for the safety of her kababayans affected by Typhoon Yolanda.

It isn't just Ariella Arida who's currently making a good impression at the Miss Universe 2013 pageant in Moscow, Russia.

Apparently, the Russians and other nationalities represented at this year's Miss Universe competition are said to be completely floored by the outpouring of love and support coming from Filipino communities around the world.

At the recently concluded preliminary competitions, held November 5 at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Filipino supporters loudly cheered for Ariella as she participated in the swimsuit and evening gown competitions.

The dedication of Pinoy fans simply impressed other nationalities as Pinoys kept cheering and applauding, while their Kababayan strutted on stage in her red bikini, and later, in her yellow gown.

Even on the Internet, the presence of Filipino supporters could be felt, as social media posts about Ariella, and votes on the Miss Universe website, continued to pour in.

“I draw my strength from the Filipinos who keep lifting me up.

"In fact, the Russians told me that they are so amazed by all the love that I’m getting from my country.

"I feel so blessed because of their support," Ariella said in a statement sent to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

When asked how she rates her performance and her “crowd favorite” status, Ariella says, “I did my best in the preliminary competitions and, of course, I want to land in the Top 16; then go, go, go and eventually win the crown!

"Of course, I am both happy and privileged to be a part of most of the important events. But I refuse to be distracted over things of which I have no control, like how the judges will think.

"So instead of worrying, I just try to have fun and do my best for the Philippines!”

While several pundits and media agencies have been giving fearless forecasts about her bagging the much-coveted title and Nexus crown, Ariella herself chooses to simply enjoy every minute of the pageant.

“This is turning out to be the experience of a lifetime.

"The rehearsals are bringing us (girls) closer to each other, and it has always been a healthy and friendly environment from the start.

"Sayang naman ang moment if I am bogged down by senseless worrying."

Ariella discloses that if there is one thing that worries her now, it is the state of her kababayans, who are taking a beating from Typhoon Yolanda.

With this, Ariella sends a message of hope to Filipinos.

“I know that we Filipinos can surpass everything.

"Knowing Filipinos, these situations make us stronger and more united to help each other.

"Alam kong malalampasan natin ang lahat no matter what. Stay strong and positive.

"I send out my love to all those who are affected.

"Maliit mang kaligayahan ang maidudulot nito, basta, in my heart and in my mind, I will try to bring home the crown for the Philippines!”

Ariella will be joining the 2013 Miss Universe Coronation Night on November 9 at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia.

Live telecast will be on November 10 at 2:00 A.M. on Velvet Channel, and a delayed telecast will air on ABS-CBN at 9:00 A.M.

Help Ariella get into the semifinals by voting for her at www.missuniverse.com. One can vote up to 100 times daily from a valid e-mail address.
