On February 13, GMA opened its gates to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and some of the country's tech bloggers for the Kapuso Digitized Technology Bloggers Event.

The Kapuso network gave their guests a tour of their state-of-the-art studios and high-tech broadcast equipment.

The bloggers were impressed with the developments made by the network to keep up with the evolving technology in the broadcast industry.

PEP.ph and the other bloggers were welcomed by news anchor Pia Arcangel after she delivered her live flash report in one of the studios used by the News and Public Affairs department.

Guests got to see the set of Kusina Master, hosted by Chef Pablo “Boy” Bogro, and were able to get a first-hand experience of the sound-proofing technology used inside the studio.

The group also visited the network's in-house AM and FM stations, DZBB 594 and DWLS 97.1.

Veteran TV host and showbiz personality German “Kuya Germs” Moreno welcomed the guests to his radio show Walang Siesta.

Aside from Kuya Germs, PEP and the other bloggers also got to meet Barangay LS FM DJs Papa Baldo and Kuya Kiko.

BONDING WITH KAPUSO STARS. After the tour, the group bonded with Kapuso stars Mikoy Morales, Mayton Eugenio, and Benjamin Alves, who talked about the latest gadgets and technology in the market.

Protégé finalist Mikoy Morales was eager to show and demonstrate how his new gadget, a Fujifilm Instax camera, works.

The young actor is currently into photography, taking after his father who works for a top camera company in the country.

“Medyo parang throwback siya kasi nagpi-print siya ng actual photos.

"Medyo nawala na kasi sa uso iyon, pero masarap pa rin iyong feeling na nakikita at naitatago mo iyong something concrete na may sentimental value.”

The 20-year-old talent, who is currently a cast member in the teleserye Villa Quintana, said that he got fascinated with photography because of the Tumblr blog site.

“Nagsimula iyon sa Tumblr, e, parang nakikita mo iyong mga pictures doon.

“Doon nagsimula iyong, ‘How can this picture be so artistic? Nahilig ako sa mga ganoon.

“Na-intrigue ako in a way kung paano napo-produce iyong ganoong images.

“Nag-experiement ako, and in a way I got to love what I found out.”

Meanwhile, Adarna star Benjamin Alves told PEP.ph that he uses the latest mapping applications for smartphones when he’s biking.

He explains, “They’re very handy, especially if you want to monitor if you’re improving in terms of endurance.”

Aside from this, the actor uses a different app, which helps him monitor the calories he burn every time he works out.

“Nakakatuwa nga since some apps also monitor the calories you burn, and your heart rate, so you really know if you’re getting the workout that your body needs.”
