In this exclusive interview of PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), TV host Bianca Gonzalez shares her shopping habits.
Go for classic pieces. You can never go wrong with a pair of jeans, Bianca testifies, “Jeans is my everyday statement.
“Have a few pairs of jeans that fit you well, have a few killer pumps that you can walk in with a classic white bottom down or white t-shirt or blazer. Things like those, for years gagamitin mo.
“I tend to stick to pieces na magagamit ko ulit, I don’t believe na pag nagamit mo once di mo na pwede gamitin ulit. I actually reuse my gowns.”
Bianca also reveals that she still wears the clothes she has had since a decade ago, “Yung gamit ko since college, gamit ko pa rin ngayon. Pag classic things talaga, you’ll never go wrong.”
Invest in a quality piece. Bianca says that investing in pricey, quality brands will help you save in the long run as they are more durable and last longer than its cheaper counterparts.
“Lalo na pag sapatos, ganyan, pag alam mo namang masusulit,” she adds.
Look for clothes that fit your body type. “Fit is everything,” Bianca stresses.
“Na-experience ko na yung mag-sha-shop ako, gustong gusto ko pero di masyadong kasya, so I’ll buy it.
"Pag-uwi ko hindi ko rin naman magagamit kasi it doesn’t fit well. I think lahat tayo, we commit this mistake…. So yan talaga ang dapat hindi.
“Mistake ko rin dati, just because this certain piece looks good on someone else, bibilhin ko.
"Pero di naman bagay sa body type ko. So don’t fall prey to that.
“Just because it looks good on someone else, doesn’t mean it’ll look good on you,” Bianca cautions.
Find your own identity. Keep experimenting until you find what works for you. Even fashionista Bianca Gonzalez admits she had “nyay” moments when she was younger.
“Nag-try din ako ng masyadong wild, tapos minsan when I see the photos nag-re-regret ako na sinuot ko sya, ganun,” she relates.
Bianca suggests to “build your own basic staple wardrobe” as you grow older.
“There are retail brands that I stick to.
"You know when you find a fit that you like, the quality and the tela you like, you sort of stick to it.
“I think as you grow older, you discover your identity talaga when it comes to clothes and little tweaks here and there.”
