Mariel Padilla on co-hosting Talentadong Pinoy with husband Robin Padilla: "It's a good project kaya ko siya ginawa... masaya rin naman ako na nasa bahay. Masaya rin ako. Pero because it's a good project, it's a blessing."

"Ako na iyong baby, ikaw naman, o," said Robin Padilla when PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked him about his baby plans with Mariel.

The action star/ host added, "I am the baby."

For her part, Mariel Padilla said, "Naku, mahihirapan ako diyan.

"Wala pa, wala pa. Kasi magta-30 pa lang ako this ano. Hanggang puwede pa, hanggang kaya kong i-push, ipu-push ko pa."

Tabloid columnist Linda Rapadas threw in, "Mga ilang years from now?"

The lady who will be turning 30 this August 10 asked back, "Hanggang ilan ba puwede?"

The press chorused, "40."

Mariel quipped, "Huh, baka 40, alien na lalabas no'n."

It was Robin who said, "32."

This elicited laughter from the small group of showbiz writers who went on August 2 to the pictorial of the couple as new hosts of Talentadong Pinoy.

Moving on, Robin said, "Hindi, baka kelangan matikas pa rin 'yong kung anuman ang mabuo."

NOT YET THE RIGHT TIME. Mariel takes her housewife role to heart.

This is probably why the couple have been stalling their plans of having a baby.

She told reporters, "Medyo time-consuming siya so kailangan naka-focus ka talaga do'n."

In fact, she had to think twice before accepting her latest hosting stint.

She continued, "If it's worth giving up what I have as a housewife..."

PEP asked, "What is it about being a housewife?"

Her answer: "Kasi, it's always been my dream... Ever since I was a kid, I really wanted to be a housewife.

"Siyempre ngayon, hindi pa naman ngayon, pero gusto kong ihatid iyong... kung kunwari man, ako, gusto ko silang ihatid sa school, alam mo yung gano'n. Yun ang gusto ko.

"Kaya siguro nung nabigyan ako ng chance na wala akong work, natuto akong magluto e, dati hindi naman ako marunong."

HOW MARIEL TAKES CARE OF ROBIN.

On a scale of one to 10—10 being the highest, how would she rate hersef as a wife?

Looking at her husband, the lady said, "Ay hindi ako siguro ang dapat sumagot niyan..."

Robin proudly stated, "10!"

He described the routine of his wife, "Mula sa paggising hanggang sa pagtulog, ako ay alagang-alaga.

"Ang aking pagkain, lahat organic...

"Sipunin lang ako konti o ubuhin, meron na akong iba't ibang klaseng pagkain... Kasi napag-aralan na niya yung raw food, yung Paleo."

(According to peleodiet.com, "Paleo is a simple dietary lifestyle that is based on foods being either in or out. In are the Paleolithic Era foods that we ate prior to agriculture and animal husbandry like meat, fish, shellfish, eggs, tree nuts, vegetables, roots, fruit, berries, mushrooms, etc. Out are Neolithic Era foods that result from agriculture or animal husbandry like grains, dairy, beans/legumes, potatoes, sugar and fake foods.")

Robin continued, "Pag raw, pag pinakain akong raw niyan, ibig sabihin nun medyo sinisipon ako...

"Pagka Paleo naman, a, yun yung mga ihaw-ihaw, mga ano, ibig sabihin nun, malakas ako.

"Pag puro juicing, ibig sabihin nun, tumataba ako.

"Ganun siya!"

Mariel takes her role happily and seriously, and Robin really prefers his wife's cooking.

Has she become a health specialist?

Robin agreed, "Hindi totoo, kasi pinag-aralan niya yun."

However, they're not following a strict diet.

It's just that yung inaano namin, iyong mas healthy version lagi...

"Hindi kami nagsho-shortcut..."

Mariel's motivation: "Kasi gusto kong mabuhay nang matagal..."

ROBIN CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT MARIEL. Their set-up seems to working—the wife loves taking care of her husband and the husband cannot live without his wife.

Chuckling, Robin affirmed, "Hindi, hindi talaga, kasi ang nangyayari minsan, halimbawa meron akong trabaho, meron akong lunchbox."

Mariel's line once Robin is home: "Ano, kinain mo ba 'yong baon mo? Masarap ba?"

She added, "Minsan, gusto niya kahit palpak. 'Sarap,' sasabihin niya. Kahit palpak, masarap."

Robin interjected, "Hindi naman, wala namang palpak."

Continuing her story, Mariel said, "Minsan sobrang alat talaga, nagkamali ako..."

But Robin was all praises for his wife, "Yun ang puwede mong ipakitang talent dito sa Talentadong Pinoy.

"Hindi totoo, kakaiba!

"Kakaiba yung mga niluluto niya kasi hindi normal, e. Yun lang raw, ang hirap gawin nun. Pag sinabing raw kasi, halimbawa, soup. Iyong soup niya, 'di mo lulutuin yun. Iisa-isahin niya yung kamatis. Isa-isa, tatanggalin niya yung mga [buto-buto] nun. Oo, iisa-isahin niya."

Mariel, all smiles, stared lovingly at her husband.

Is she happy being a housewife?

"Masaya, masaya siya sobra. Saka naa-appreciate niya," she said.
