Robi Domingo had been emphatic about not wanting to have a showbiz girlfriend and it was one of the reasons he went all out in pursuit of the athletic Gretchen Ho.
But what is his stand now that his athletic girlfriend has turned endorser and is, in fact, a part of the entertainment industry?
Gretchen is hosting the sports show Gameday Weekend with Boom Gonzalez and Mia Cabalfin every Saturday on Balls Channel. She is also endorsing Vitress alongside Solenn Heussaff and Kim Jones.
His response to this, “I don’t want a showbiz girlfriend, at all.
"And I told her that, 'I chose you, I chose to court you because you’re not showbiz.'
“So at first I was so apprehensive pero since papunta na siya rito, what can I do?
"She loves what she does, and I love the person who does it.”
PURE LOVE. Robi sees his relationship with Gretchen, whom he affectionately calls “Gretch,” as a “friendly kind of relationship,” which he describes as “love at its purest form.”
He explains, “Kasi I treat her like a sister, I bully her like a brother, but I love her like she’s my last.”
Oh, wow! And how dow he show it?
Robi admits, “Well, I’m a bit cheesy, pero not that cheesy.”
“Siguro I would hold special events for like proposals, birthdays, if matagal na kami.
"Pero right now since we’re spending like a year and some months together pa lang…
“Feeling ko, I just have to prove myself all the time.
“And that’s the best part about my relationship with Gretchen, puro lang ako pag-prove sa kanya na I’m the right guy for her.
“Of course, there are moments when I’m sweet, there are moments when I’m rough, may moment din na nagaaway kami.
“Pero it’s inevitable in any kind of relationship.”
Robi further affirms, “The best part of my relationship with Gretch is that we treat each other like siblings.
"Parang di namin iniisip yung masyadong romance-romance, we think of each other talaga.
“And no matter what, at the end of the day, we are there for each other, no matter what happens.”
