Make a list of good-looking TV personalities and surely, Atom Araullo would be at the top.
Alfonso Tomas “Atom” Araullo was recently included in the Top 10 Cutest Newsmen: All- Star Edition of SPOT.ph.
SCIENCE GEEK CUTIE. Atom certainly proves that being one of the smartest journalist on local television doesn’t mean he can’t be dubbed “cute" as well.
The UP-Diliman-physics-major-turned-journalist was a host at the "Sharp Calculators Ten Outstanding Young Mathematicians" event held on September 12 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke with Atom after the event. He said he's glad he's made the list, but reminds himself that physical appearance isn’t always enough.
“It’s very flattering and I’m starting to suspect that SPOT.ph is made up of my relatives,” he joked.
“I’m happy, pero sabi nga nila, kailangan ang kagandahan hindi lamang nasa pang ibabaw.”
Atom looks good despite his hectic schedule. He shared how he stays fit with sports and by doing basic cardio exercises in his spare time.
“I don’t have a lot of time to do sports at the moment and that’s unfortunate but when I have time, I run or I play football or do other physical activities," he said.
EXPLORING OTHER FIELDS OF MEDIA. Atom has other interests but he doesn't have time to indulge in anything outside of news and television.
“I have a lot of things that I wanna do. I want to explore other fields of media, not just television... photography or print media or doing documentaries, or doing scores for [documentaries]. I don’t even know where to begin, there’s really a lot.”
HEALTH CONSCIOUSNESS. Atom also shared tips for a healthy lifestyle and how to avoid burn out.
“Medyo nakakapagod din, but you have to be conscious about your health, you have to exercise, you have to sleep well and watch what you eat. I try to do that but I’m not very strict with myself.
“I have to admit, the important thing is to get as much rest as you can,” he said.
