Billy Crawford is a singer, dancer, host and actor. But at this stage in his career he wants to focus on his acting, admits he is awed by the likes of John Lloyd Cruz, "Kapapanood ko lang ng The Trial[John Lloyd’s latest film]. Sobrang nahusayan ako at na-intimidate ako bilang isang actor."

Scandals and marriage proposals define the state of affairs in showbiz this year.

Billy Crawford has contributed to the first part because of his brief incarceration. Is he joining the wedding bandwagon?

He said he has given it a thought but it’s not the right time, taking into consideration that his girlfriend Coleen Garcia is too young to be married.

Billy is 32, the right age to settle down, “Syempre naiisip ko, I’m not getting any younger.

"Ang problema lang, she’s only 22.”

What he wants is for Coleen to enjoy life and her youth until both of them have reached the stability to talk about marriage.

“Gusto ko yung mga pangarap niya [Coleen] na gusto niyang gawin [magawa niya]

“Gusto kasi niyang bumalik ng school, gusto niyang ipagpatuloy ang pag-aartista, acting… ”

Has he set a deadline?

I really don’t know the exact date.”

He confided that when the time comes to tie the knot, he still wants Coleen to continue with her pursuits.

“Choice niya yon. Hindi ko mapo-force sa isang tao na, ‘Tumigil ka na, ha, kasi ikakasal tayo.’

"Kelangan it’s a mutual agreement, understanding.

“Hindi pwede yung ako lang, ako lang. It has to be from both parties.”

NEW TO OFFER. While Billy is known in the Philippines as a host, singer, and actor, he has also made a name for himself in the international music scene, particularly in Europe.

He is also part of the comedy film Moron 5.2: The Transformation that will start showing on November 5.

At this stage in his career, he is focusing on becoming a better actor.

“I’ve done other things… for MMK [Maalaala Mo Kaya], I’ve done The Exorcist [sequel] and I’ve done a few Lenten specials for It’s Showtime.

“Siguro I’m not a John Lloyd Cruz.

"I’m not an actor like this or Marvin Agustin na kayang mag-drama, kayang mag-comedy.

“So I still have to learn. Being a talent surrounded by amazing talents katulad ni John Lloyd…

"Kasi kapapanood ko lang ng The Trial [John Lloyd’s latest film].

"Sobrang nahusayan ako at na-intimidate ako bilang isang actor.

“So I want to be as good or maybe even better.

"Maybe in the future, maybe not. I’m not sure.”

Billie was one of five in the 2012 movie Moron 5 and the Crying Lady and now the same cast is in its sequel, Moron 5.2.

He said he enjoyed working again with Luis Manzano, John “Sweet” Lapus, DJ Durano, Marvin Agustin, and welcomed the addition of Matteo Guidicillo in the cast as replacement for Martin Escudero.

“Basta enjoy ako kasi parang hindi ako nagtatrabaho kapag kasama ko sila.”

Apart from his local career, Billy said that he is also planning to release another international music album and intends to go to France soon to promote it.
