Toni and Alex Gonzaga: Five reasons why it’s a good idea for them to have a reality show

Toni Gonzaga admitted to keeping track of Alex's suitors, "Ang dami kong galamay."

To this, the younger sister said, "Oo, ay, ang OA. Parang maano pa siya sa NBI mag-imbestiga..."

They’re chatty, candid, and combustible—just three of the reasons why an interview with the Gonzaga sisters, Toni and Alex, is always a riot.

Their first TV commercial together for McDonalds is titled BFF (Best Friends Forever).

The press people laughed.

“‘Tapos pag galing sa bahay, sabay kaming aalis, ‘tapos uuwi kaming sabay.”

The main host of The Voice Philippines threw in, “Mas masarap kasi ah, parang hindi trabaho.

Alex interjected, “Nahihirapan ka do’n?”

Toni clarified, “Hindi, lagi ko siyang binabantayan.”

And how does Alex feel now that she’s also an endorser of the world-famous hamburger chain?

She said, referring to the deal, “Nag-isip din. Pinag-isipan ko nang maigi…”

A brief pause, before adding, “Hindi joke lang.”

She was indeed joking because the younger Gonzaga sister is, as Toni put it, a “McDo addict.”

In fact, Alex celebrated her 17th birthday with a kiddie party in McDo Eastwood.

And as young children, they grew up having breakfast in McDo Greenhills.

The interesting part of the chat held during their fan’s day at McDo Eton Centris, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City, yesterday, November 26, was when they started talking about their many fights.

The most recent of which was when Toni used the CR of Alex.

Toni butt in, “Huwag na [ikuwento]…”

Her younger sister went on, stating, “…hindi niya binuksan yung exhaust fan…”

Now here are five reasons why we think it’s a good idea for them to have a reality show.

1. There will always fights, which will range from wala lang to mababaw.

Alex revealed that “damit” is the most common reason.

But when they were kids, Toni said, “Hindi kasi pangit siya nung bata.”

Alex agreed, “Very annoying kasi meron tayong awkward stage.”

Toni: “Hindi nakakaasar yung mukha niya nung bata.”

Alex: “’Tapos yung boses ko, parang payat. Ang pangit… Pag nagre-recording ako, kasi nagre-recording siya lagi. Pi-play niya yung cassette tape, yung cassette tape.

Another reason: Toni was a bully, according to Alex.

The latter related, “Lagi niya akong binu-bully. Yun pala, binu-bully siya sa school. Sa akin niya nilalabas.”

Third reason: the four-year age gap.

Toni said, “Oo nung bata ako, hate ko siya. Basta naiinis ako sa kanya. Kasi yun, awkward stage.

"Adolescent ako. Siya bata. So walang nakaka-relate sa pinanggagalingan ko.

“Walang nakaka-relate nung nagdadalaga ako ‘tapos annoying siya.

“Nagka-period ka na, hindi niya naiintindihan…So wala akong kakampi nung time na yun kaya asar na asar ako sa kanya.”

Alex said, “Hindi kami yung bestfriends talaga nung paglaki.”

2. The physical scenes can be exciting. Imagine, they have a weird way of pulling each other’s hair!

Toni related, “Dati nung bata pa kami, ganito kami mag-away niyan.

"Hawak ko yung buhok niya, hawak niya yung buhok ko. Bitaw, hindi, 1, 2, 3…Ayokong bumitaw, ikaw muna, sabay, 1, 2, 3.”

3. Sometimes, their confrontation scenes are a la teleseryes.

Toni recounted, “Bata pa kasi kami nun… Sigawan kami. Talagang grabe.

Araw-araw kayong nag-aaway. Magpatayan kayo please…’”

Alex added, “So may one time, nag-aaway sila ng mommy’t daddy, inabutan ko naman din sila [ng kutsilyo]."

4. Toni can be an effective “villainess” in Alex’s life.

One time, Toni heard Alex curse.

Animatedly, Alex said, “Pinaluhod niya ako sa mga mongo. As in.

5. They have so many lessons to impart—though they hate each other, they also love each other!

Yayakapin niya ‘ko, ‘I’m so sorry, Katherine.’

So pinalo ako. Pero wala siyang alam nun. Wala siyang alam nun. Totoo ‘yan.

As grown-ups, Toni has become more protective of Alex.

The former cited an instance when a star allegedly snubbed Alex, who supposedly told her ate, “…kilala mo ba si ganito? Hindi ako pinapansin.’”

Then Toni supposedly said, “’Sino?’"

And what she'd do, "Hindi ko [rin] papansinin.

The TVC is just the beginning, what with their talent and humor, the Gonzaga sisters are bound to do more projects together.
