WORKDAY FOR CHESKA AND DOUG. Cheska Garcia-Kramer said she and husband Doug Kramer will both be working on Valentine’s Day.
She related, “I’ll be flying to Bohol because it’s Cesca Litton’s wedding. Doug cannot join me kasi may basketball siya.
"So, I’m gonna fly in on that day, and then fly out the next day, first thing in the morning, kasi I have work.”
COOK-IN FOR BECKY AND VICTOR. Becky girl Divine Lee can't wait to find out what boyfriend Victor Basa has in store for her this year.
She said, “Every Valentine’s Day kasi we take turns kung sinong magpaplano. [This year] it's Victor's turn.
"He loves to cook, so I’m thinking it has something to do with food."
WHOLE DAY WITH ROBI FOR GRETCHEN. TV host and athlete Gretchen Ho will let boyfie Robi Domingo plan their Valentine.
She explained, “We take each day one step at a time, so for Valentine’s Day, 'di pa namin naiisip, e.
"Siguro ano, I think dapat siya yung tanungin. Ako yung girl, e!"
Ideally, she said she just wants to spend the whole day with Robi.
“Well, I want to go out of town, maybe Nuvali or Tagaytay. The thing that matters most to me is being with him.
“We love traveling together. We’ve been to Pulag, Japan, Korea... always with the family.
"This year, we plan to go to Sagada.
"On a normal day, we spend time at home, eat out, or watch a movie. Madalas yun lang.
"Pero gusto namin, every day, new experience. So we try new restaurants.”
LAUREEN, SINGLE AND HAPPY. Fashion and travel blogger Laureen Uy said she’s too busy travelling for work to think of Valentine’s Day.
“Actually wala pa, hindi ko pa siya naiisip sa dami kong ginagawa.
“Ang daming plans, e. Kasi my siblings are inviting me to go to Candaya Resort in Cebu.
"We’re planning to do that or I’ll probably be out travelling again kasi last year, I was in New York for Valentine's.”
Is she single at the moment?
"Oo na hindi. I’m really happy with everything that’s happening with my life in terms of family, friends, career or mapa-love life.
"I’m really thankful with everything that’s happening," Laureen said.
COZY DINNER FOR PATTY AND PATRICK. Blogger-host and mommy-to-be Patty Laurel-Filart plans to spend Valentine’s Day with her hubby Patrick before she gives birth.
She said, “I don’t have anything planned yet, because I’m pregnant, I’m four months on the way.
"I’m looking forward to a romantic dinner with my husband, something simple, yung kaming dalawa lang.
"So we can enjoy quality time before the baby comes.”
NICOLE PINING FOR BF. Blogger Nicole Andersson said she hopes her boyfriend of two years can make it for Valentine’s. “I haven’t thought of anything yet.
"Hopefully, my boyfriend will be in town. We’re in a long-distance relationship so it’s hard.
"Sana magkatugma yung schedules namin, yun lang.
"Kasi 'di kami magkasama, yun lang wish ko, magkasama kami."
VALENTINE MEMORIES. Cheska said having kids makes Valentine's Day more special. “Siyempre kasama na namin sila mag-celebrate. So we also take our children out on dates... that’s memorable for me.”
Divine said she and Victor prioritize Valentine’s Day over their birthdays. They really make an effort to surprise each other.
"There was one Valentine’s na ginising ako ng mga friends ako.
Sabi nila, 'May shoot.' Sabi ko, ‘Ha? Wala akong shoot.’
Tinanong ko pa sa handler ko. Sabi niya, 'Hindi, may shoot ka.'
Pag baba ko sa isang room sa condo, nag-hire sila ng function room.
“Apparently meron siyang [Victor] mga artists na ready to paint me there.
"Kasi mahilig ako sa art. For me naman... I don’t cook talaga, so I cooked for him.
"Mahilig kasi kaming mag-surprise sa isa’t isa... We really spend for each other on Valentine's.”
For her part, Gretchen keeps things wholesome and sweet with Robi.
“Our past two Valentine’s, we cooked food at home, then we had a candle-lit dinner at my place.
"The first time, there was music, nag-slow dance kami. 'Tapos lagi siyang may dalang flowers. So, simple lang talaga.
"Ako, mas natutuwa ako sa simple things, e. Cooking together, drinking wine, listening to music."
Though she’s not officially in a relationship, Laureen shared this special Valentine's Day date.
“My most memorable is I received a letter the day before Valentine’s asking me to dress pretty, to meet him at a certain place and time on Valentine’s Day.
"Pagpunta ko doon, I got inside his car and he blindfolded me!
"Pagka-blindfold sa akin, I didn’t know where we’re going kasi it’s a surprise.
"Pagbaba namin, umakyat kami sa stairs, ang daming stairs noon.
"Nung tinanggal ko na ang blindfold ko, we were on a rooftop.
"May table for two, may lights, may background music. I think it was Rod Stewart or Michael Bublé.
"Someone was grilling food for us. May projector, tapos may couch to watch a movie. I really like a guy who dedicates time and effort for a date."
For Nicole, a surprise visit from her significant other was the best. “Last year, he surprised me on Valentine’s.
"He said couldn’t come; and then he knocked on my door in the morning. He surprised me, he flew in, so that was really sweet.”
KEEPING THE ROMANCE ALIVE. The celebs also shared tips on how to keep the passion and romance alive in a relationship.
Cheska advised couples to find time to go on a date and to laugh. “Yesterday, Doug and I went on a date, kaming dalawa lang, without the kids," she began.
"We also don’t forget to laugh. Sometimes, it’s nice not be too serious.
"Siyempre, hindi mo rin maiiwasan magka-arguments. Pero you also choose your battles; hindi lahat ng bagay pinapalaki mo.
“With Doug and I, pag alam kong it’s something he might not like, hindi ko na siya tini-testing.
"I avoid things that might disappoint him as well.”
For Divine, keeping things exciting is her mantra. “Be excited, that’s what I say. That’s my personality.
"I’m always excited to try new things. Kasi the minute maging boring ka, magiging boring yung relationship.
"Siya naman, he always tells me why we’re happy. Kasi he appreciates more, and expects less.
“He lives by that rule. Even the smallest things na kahit ako parang normal na sa akin gawin, he still tells me, 'Thank you.'
"Nafi-feel mo na na-appreciate niya yung ginawa mo, kahit small things. I think that’s how tumagal din kami," she said.
