A week after their out-of-town wedding in Balesin last February 15, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Heart Evangelista are
up and about, back to work and socializing.
The newlyweds were last seen at the book launch of Armida Siguion-Reyna’s biography at Whitespace in Makati City.
In an interview with members of the press, Heart and Chiz easily answered questions about their life together as a married couple.
IN LOVE AGAIN. Their third wedding reception was held in Sorsogon and open to the public. Heart shared she and Chiz greeted the guests personally from table to table.
“Okay naman yung almost five thousand people, naging masaya naman sila.
"Nag-table to table kami so it was an experience for me.”
The senator added, “Parang fiesta, pero at least naging bahagi yung mga kababayan ko.
"I served there for nine years. And tama lang na mapakilala ko si Heart dun, hindi para tumakbo or kahit ano.”
Heart revealed she fell in love again with Chiz after the wedding.
“Na-in love ako ulit sa kaniya after the wedding and nung napanood ko yung videos nila Bob Nicolas, parang na-in love ako ulit.
"So Cloud 9 na Cloud 9 pa rin ako hanggang ngayon.”
BACK TO WORK. Meanwhile, the couple have yet to schedule their honeymoon as both have gone back to work.
“Matagal pa ang honeymoon; actually, wala pa kaming plano,” Heart admitted.
“Back to work na ako, next week Saturday I’ll be on Startalk and SAS [Sunday All Stars] and Weddings TV.
"'Tapos sa May back to soap na ako, kami ni Lovi so exciting naman din.”
DOMESTICITY. Heart said her married life, so far, has been “very good, very good, parang walang nagbago ganun pa rin."
According to her, it's being addressed as "Mrs. Escudero" that needs some getting used to.
She confessed, "All the people who call me Mrs. Escudero parang pakiramdam ko tinutukso ako. Naninibago pa ako.
"Pero kapag nakikita ko siyang naka-print kinikilig. Pag naririnig ko siya, parang nahihiya ako.
"Today I changed my Instagram name, ginawa kong Love Marie [Ongpauco] Escudero. So nakakakilig.”
She also related that she is still trying to improve her cooking for her husband.
“Magaling kasi siyang magluto e, kaya minsan nahihiya akong magluto para sa kaniya. Parang he’s ten steps ahead of me.
"So kami na lang ng Ate Yolie ko, siya yung pinagku-cooking lessons ko, 'tapos kapag nasa bahay, tinuturuan niya ako from time to time.
INSPIRATION. During the book launch, Heart also narrated that Armida Siguion-Reyna is an inspiration for her.
“It’s a privilege to be invited here tonight and I got her book, so ang saya.”
Does she see herself and her future family following in the footsteps of Armida’s clan?
“Well of course na-inspire ako, pero generation to generation... hindi ko alam kung pati anak ko ba magiging artista.
"Pero for sure, andiyan naman si Cris Villongco, magiging inspired din ang mga future kids ko.
"She [Cris] is also very much an inspiration to a lot of us.”
