Bea Alonzo learns a new sport for her role in the upcoming movie titled Crossroads.
For someone who is not really into sports, Bea has gotten into the sport of sailing without much difficulty.
“I've been training, siguro nasa 9th or 10th session ko na, parte na siya ng sinu-shoot namin na movie, 'yong Crossroads,” Bea mentioned during a brief interview with her at the launch of the new Olay Moisture Body Wash collection last Saturday, March 28.
She added, “I hate gym, I hate running. So, I finally found something na pwede kong maging sport and I can be good at, and nakaka-burn siya ng calories.”

The Kapamilya actress admitted that knowing the basics of this sport has not been easy for her.
Since she does not exercise regularly, Bea said there were sailing moves that she couldn't get into right away.
She related, “Very important na athletic ka kasi kapag tumaob yung boat, kailangan to get on the boat again kasi wala namang tutulong sa'yo.
“For example, may tinatawag kaming hike, kailangan talaga may core workout siya.
“Siyempre, for those who work out, mas may advanatage sila.
“For those na kagaya ko na hindi naman masyadong athletic, kailangan ng extra effort.”
EXTRA CAREFUL. Since she's new to the sport, Bea couldn't avoid minor accidents while sailing.
In fact, she was recently brought to a hospital after falling off the sailboat.

“Medyo mahirap, may kaunting bruises,” said Bea.
“But it's all good kasi feeling ko naman parang first time akong makikita ng mga tao na medyo physical.”
However, instead of dwelling on her mishaps while sailing, Bea would rather talk about how much she enjoyed doing it.
“Siyempre, parang pangit naman kung pag-uusapan natin 'yong negative side ng sailing, baka mamaya wala ng mag-sail.
“It's actually very, very fun. Marami kang matututunan, marami kang maia-apply sa buhay mo, kung paano to just go with the wind. Just let go and have fun.”
At the end of the interview, Bea said she might continue sailing even after the movie.
She's actually planning to introduce the sport to her boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo.
“Actually, pinakita ko kay Zanjoe and he wants to try it. Baka, malay natin.”
Prior to sailing, Bea is already into swimming, which she considers as her number one fitness routine.
