Self-confessed foodie Yeng Constantino says, “It’s fulfilling to serve someone you love... Ano talaga, pagmamahal sa binubuong pamilya ang nag-lead sa akin para mag-business.”

Pop rock princess Yeng Constantino now serves your favorite comfort food, but without beef.

The Ostrich Farm is her second venture in food service after her restobar Garage88.

The staple in her newest restaurant, as its name suggests, is the ostrich meat, known to be the healthiest meat in the world.

According to research, it is even healthier than turkey as it is lower in fat and cholesterol.

“At saka super baba ng calories, high in protein, so ang ganda talaga.

“The Ostrich Farm is a healthy restaurant.”

The 26-year-old singer says she’s aware that eaters may not be ready for ostrich meat, “Siyempre sa mga tao na hindi pa handa, may choices din naman.”

She assures, “If they want their burgers to be done na beef patty, it’s okay.”

But she dares them to give ostrich burger a try, “Kasi sobrang sarap talaga. Mas healthy ‘to!

“Sa Ostrich Farm more of conversations, hangout sa place with your friends and family.

“Kahit anak mo, sama mo don.”

Yeng opened Garage 88 on Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City in November last year. The Ostrich Farm is in Blue Bay Walk, Pasay City.

CRUCIAL PARTNER. Yeng has gone big time in food business as she will be opening her first coffee shop in 2016.

“Next year abangan niyo magkaka-coffee shop na kami. Mahilig ako sa kape, e,” she announces.

Yeng says her drive in the food business stems from what she has learned in her married life, “It’s fulfilling to serve someone you love.”

She and her husband Yan Asuncion are into fourth month of wedded bliss, “I am so blessed na mapangasawa ko si Yan,” she beams.

“Ano talaga, pagmamahal sa binubuong pamilya ang nag-lead sa akin para mag-business,” she says.

The support of Yan plays a crucial role in the successful opening of her two restaurants, “Sobra siyang maplanong tao, grateful ako dun.”

She explains, “Kasi ako yung taong wasak, kalat yung thoughts ko all over the place.

“And siya yung parang nag-gather ng mga ideas ko.

“So nangyayari, lahat kasi thinker ako, si Yan doer.

“Executive yung kanyang mga strengths and yun yung mga ginagawa namin ngayon.

“Mag-boyfriend pa lang kami, hindi pa siya nagpo-propose sinabi ko na, ‘Uy! Magbi-business tayo pag naging asawa na kita, ha?’

“Assumera ako!”

FOOD LOVERS. Yeng is a self-confessed foodie, a reason she says why putting up restaurants is fun for her.

“So ako, ‘Hala! Ano gagawin ko?’ e yun yung time na lagi kaming nasa labas.

“So ngayon na magkasama na kami sa bahay, we don’t have to go out anymore to date.

“Pero we try different restaurants. Foodie talaga kami ni Yan.”

WIFEY. If you are following Yeng on Instagram the hashtag #lutoniyeng is not new to you.

When she entered her married life, she started learning to cook for her husband, a task she enjoyed doing.

Is she a submissive wife?

Her quick response, “Kung on stage ako po ay tinatawag niyong pop rock princess, sa bahay po ako po ay isang wife.

“At ngayon ay pinangangatawanan ko na siya.”
