Jessy Mendiola shares how the beach helped her deal with stress

"I forget that I am tired, I forget that I'm stressed," says Jessy Mendiola on why she keeps on coming back to the beach.

Who doesn’t love the coconut trees, the warm ocean breeze, and the soft feeling of the fine sand in your toes?

But for Jessy Mendiola, going to the beach isn’t all about fun and leisure.

It's getting attuned to nature.

At the NESTEA’s shore and underwater clean-up activity on April 30, she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Hindi lang siya maganda sa mata and activities, it’s also good for your soul.

“I just feel free whenever I’m at the beach.

“Escape ko talaga dagat, everyone that’s close to me knows that.

“They know na ang kailangan ko dagat, alam nila kapag nagiging monster mode na ako or kaya nagiging halimaw na ako, 'Ay kailangan na niya ng dagat.'”

The beach has become her stress buster.

She said, “What I do there, kunwari nag-kayaking ka 'tapos nasa gitna ka lang, and then you close your eyes, you listen to the sound of the waves, you feel the sun, the heat.

“’Di ba parang you forget about everything?

“I forget that I am tired, I forget that I’m stressed.”

A certified beach lover, here are other ways to enjoy the sun, the shore, and the blue waves.

Party responsibly

On April 30, Jessy attended the ZoukOut party which played the beats of DJ Kaskade plus other local and international DJs for the grand culmination of this year’s NESTEA Love the Beach.

Love the beach

This particular trip was Jessy's way of giving back to Boracay.

She joined the coral replanting and shore clean-up activities held on April 29 until May 1.
