Kapuso actress Thea Tolentino has been hard at work since winning the GMA-7 reality-talent search Protége in 2012.
Over the years, she has become one of the network's trusted artists.
In 2014, she headlined the successful drama series The Half Sisters opposite Barbie Forteza.
But she found her niche in character acting as the villainess in the shows Once Again, Destined to be Yours, Hahamakin ang Lahat, and Haplos.
When asked what, so far, has been her favorite showbiz moment, she reveals it's when she's singing in front of a crowd—not when she's acting in front of the camera.
She narrates, "Pag mall shows, yong kapag nagpe-perform ka, sinasamahan ka ng crowd. Ang sarap ng feeling.
"Sobrang enjoy kapag sumasabay sa iyo iyong crowd na kumanta, mas napi-feel mo na napapasaya mo sila.
"Actually iyon iyong the best, yong nakikita mong masaya sila."
In the meantime, the homey side of Thea is revealed in this Q&A:
What's one cool skill you wish you had?
What's your favorite food?
Crabs, seafood. Kaya mataas cholesterol ko.
Same diet even when you have a show?
Tinatanggal ko na iyong rice. Last year, tinanggal ko na iyong rice pero bumalik ulit ako no'ng nag-Pasko.
"Nitong Holy Week nag-check in ako sa isang wellness spa sa Tagaytay, yong program ko bawal sa 'kin yong pork and beef.
"Tina-try ko rin yong organic juices nila. May good for the liver, good for the heart. Ngayon ginagawa ko siya sa bahay.
"Sobrang nai-stress na 'ko emotionally, kasi nagsasabay ako ngayon ng work and studying.
"Kaya pakiramdam ko parang pigang-piga yong utak ko, sobrang stressed ako.
"So nag-check in ako, overnight lang. Bitin nga, e, dapat at least three days and two nights. Pero worth it naman.
"May program sila do'n na stress buster. Do'n ko nalaman na iyong pork and beef, mas nakaka-promote ng stress sa katawan.
"So no'ng time na nag-stay ako do'n, bawal sa 'kin yong pork and beef."
Statuesque Sanya Lopez has set aside her beauty queen aspirations to focus on her showbiz career.
The 21-year-old Kapuso star had her big break when she was cast as Hara Danaya in the 2016 remake of Encantadia. This was followed by a lead role in the afternoon series Haplos, which aired for seven months.
With all the good things going for her in showbiz, Sanya's dream to win a beauty title will have to wait indefinitely.
She told PEP.ph back in February, "Feeling ko kasi, hindi pa ako ready, hindi ko pa ramdam na dapat na akong mag-join.
"Siguro pag 24 or 25 na ako, baka handang-handa na ako mag-join physically and emotionally."
"One at a time, career muna, and then yung dream ko na maging titleholder ng isang beauty pageant."
Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia made a bold declaration for body positivity this year to shut up naysayers putting down her flat body.
The young star had had enough of body shamers whenever she posted photos of herself in swimsuit.
She stood up to them and wrote in one post, "Yes, I have no boobs, I'm flat chested + I have my own fair share of stretch marks. And I don't see anything wrong with it.
"If your definition of being 'sexy' doesn't fit with my body type, well then sorry, but I LOVE MY BODY."
Andrea Torres applies the art of deadma when dealing with controversies.
Last year, a netizen went too far in criticizing her, stinging her with "di maganda," "retokada," and "feelingera."
Being a real trooper and professional, the Kapuso actress simply brushed off the negativity with a curt reply, "Remind lang din kita, wala akong pakialam."
The sexy actress took the high road, topping off her answer with a smiling emoji.
As she put it, "Kasi kung lahat ng bagay magpapaapekto ka, mapu-pull down ka talaga.
"Makakalimutan mo lahat ng ibang bagay na magaganda para sa iyo."
She added, "Mahirap maging stressed."
Kapamilya actress Erich Gonzales makes it look easy.
Bouncing back from a much-publicized breakup, Erich surprised everyone with her new hairdo, new body, and new image. The young star sported shorter tresses, rock-hard abs, and a sexier turn signaled by her launch as a calendar girl for a liquor brand.
Erich also tackled one of her most challenging projects yet: playing triplets in the prime time series The Blood Sisters.
At the show's press conference last February, Erich revealed the importance of making time for herself.
"Pag may time na mag-rest, rest talaga. While resting, keep reading the script.
"Pero siyempre, pag may time din, huwag mong kalimutan yung mga bagay na nagbibigay sa iyo ng kaligayahan.
"Like, for me, exercising, working out with my trainer, and playing badminton."
Jak Roberto with his buffed bod and toned six pack has been dubbed the "Pambansang Abs."
After seven years of waiting, Jak was given his breakout role in 2017 via the GMA-7 series Meant to Be.
He played one of the guys out to steal lead star Barbie Forteza's heart, and although Jak did not end up with her in the show, he did win her love in real life.
Jak and Barbie confirmed their relationship two months after Meant to Be ended.
Currently, Jak is one of the lead cast in the afternoon drama Contessa, opposite Glaiza de Castro.
On the other hand, his bodalicious body has become both a blessing and a curse for Jak.
"Laging sinasabi sa'kin na puro abs lang daw ako at walang talent sa pag-acting," he tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
"Pero hindi ko naman masisisi kung may gano'n, kasi kahit papa'no nagpapasalamat na lang ako na napansin niya 'ko."
Jak mostly ignores these comments, and gives them some positive spin.
"Nacha-challenge ako lalo, so lalong nagbu-boost iyon para sa 'kin to do better."
The transformation of Derrick Monasterio, another Kapuso hunk, from teen cutie to a toned matinee idol is hard to ignore.
His first exposure as a hunk was when he walked for Cosmopolitan Magazine's Cosmo Bachelor Bash, where men showed off their bodies on the runway.
The 22-year-old actor-singer, who started getting serious about working out when he was 19, says he first did it for athletic purposes.
"I play basketball, e," he tells PEP.ph, "For me, I started working out not really to look good.
"Nabigyan ako ng mga parang projects like Cosmo, do'n ako uminom ng kung anu-anong supplements... do'n ako nagseryoso sa pagdi-gym.
"After no'n nasundan na ng mga magazines na kailangan topless, medyo kailangan maghubad sa TV... tuloy-tuloy na."
But beyond achieving an enviable body, Derrick says he is able to apply the discipline he develops from his regular workouts to other areas of his life.
He shares, "It's a characteristic na maganda kasi pag may gusto ka, paghihirapan mo.
"Yun yung pinakamagandang attitude na makukuha mo sa pagwo-work out, makikita mo rin yun sa iba't ibang aspect.
"Like sa acting, kung gusto mong manalo ng [award], kailangan mong mag-training.
"Sa love, kung gusto mo yung babae, kailangan mo siyang paghirapan.
"Mga gano'n, di ba? So iyon, persistence talaga, that's the term."
Derrick is also aware of his influence as an actor and celebrity, and he puts it to good use.
"The power of an actor is limitless," he explains, "nakikita rin sila sa TV, e.
"So whatever you do, people are gonna copy. People are gonna judge."
Hence, his goal is to inspire as many people as he can. And it makes him happy when fans tell him he encourages them in his own little ways.
"When people are coming up to me to ask a picture, they're gonna say na, 'O, I saw you in ganito, ang galing mo sa ganito.'
"'Tapos parang they wanna be like me, parang ganun. So nakakatuwa na nakaka-influence ako ng tao."
That is why, Derrick says, he tries to accommodate fans whenever they ask for a simple photo op.
"Never ako nag-reject ng picture kahit na ga'no kapagod.
"Kasi parang yun na lang yung pinaka-bonus mo sa kanila sa pag-support nila sa iyo.
"And when I went to the States for a vacation, I saw Hollywood actors na kahit ako na-starstruck ako, so I know the feeling."
Derrick is currently being seen in the prime-time rom-com serye Inday Will Always Love You.
When Vin Abrenica transferred from TV5 to ABS-CBN, he was immediately cast as one of Maja Salvador's leading men in the afternoon soap Wildflower.
The show had no pretensions of what the role required—lots of topless scenes for Vin.
As a result, the Kapamilya audience first had a taste of the actor-singer's tight abs when teaser photos of Wildflower were posted on the show's Instagram account.
During its airing, however, the feedback proved that Vin had more going for him than his beefcake image.
After a year-long run, the show left Vin with much appreciation for his craft.
He said working with industry veterans like Tirso Cruz III and Aiko Melendez had pushed him to be ready and prepared during tapings.
Vin is often compared to his older brother Aljur, who have both recently joined the Kapamilya Network.
"Normal na sa 'kin yon," Vin said during a guest appearance in the talk show Tonight With Boy Abunda.
"Since I was young, bata pa lang ako, every day, sa school, sa teachers..."
He recalled a particular incident that stood out in his memory.
He told the TV host, "Actually hindi na kumpara, e, sa akin no'n, insulto.
"Tinawag siyang magsasaka, at ako, hindi ko nage-gets kung bakit.
"Sinabi muna na magsasaka siya sa tabi ko... yun pala ako yung kalabaw niya."
According to Vin, his good relationship with his Kuya Aljur has remained intact amid the bashing.
If anything, it has driven him to persevere even more.
"I wanna prove something, e. I have a name. My name's Vin, and I exist," Vin declared.
