When an occasion calls for it, Gabbi Garcia gets all out glamorous at events, in fashion editorials, and ad campaigns.
But away from all that, the 20-year-old GMA-7 actress tones it all down.
She said, "On normal days, hindi ako masyado nagme-make-up, like cheek and lip tint lang."
Gabbi met with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press at the launch of Maybelline New York's #MaybellineStation event last Tuesday, July 2, at Common Ground in Bonigacio Global City, Taguig.
The Kapuso star volunteered she's fine with a full-on glam look, "Kapag work, kung kayang mag 'no-make-up' make-up, I'd go for it. But it depends kasi sa event or it depends on what I'm doing for the day.
"On normal days, I prefer the no-make-up make-up."
GABBI'S 'NO-MAKE-UP' MAKE-UP LOOK
When asked about her make-up essentials to achieve a natural make-up look, Gabbi suggested a skin tint.
Skin tints are all-purpose make-up products that are usually applied on lips and cheeks, and even on eyelids.
She explained, "I love small bags so the tendency is my make-up kit does not fit in my bag.
"So I just bring eyelash curler and my lip tint.
"It's good na for my lips, my cheeks, and the eyes."
Gabbi also stressed the importance of having a good skin to achieve an au naturel make-up look.
"For skin care, it doesn't mean na if you're morena, you don't have to apply sunblock.
"You have to apply sunblock every day or use foundation that has SPF on it."
GABBI'S MAKE-UP TIPS FOR MORENAS
Being a proud morena, the Pamilya Roces actress usually prefers warm and sandy shades for her make-up or those with peach undertones.
She told PEP.ph, "And I'm a fan of peach coral blush ons and the 'sun-kissed' look."
Gabbi added, "A lot of people are messaging me, telling me na, 'Oh, your lipstick fits me, too!' 'It's also bagay!'
"Maybe because we have the same skin tone, so I'm really glad that I can help Filipinos for their skin tone."
In case she has to wear a bright pink lip stick, she neutralizes its bright shade and adds dimension using a nude lip stick.
She said, "My personal thing about lipstick when it comes to being a morena, I'm not really a fan of super pure pink.
"Like if I go for pink, hinahaluan ko siya ng medyo brown just to balance it out.
When asked about the make-up trick she learned from her make-up artists, Gabbi said, "If you're having like a dark, smokey eyes na, nude lips ka na.
"But if you're going for a red lip, go for like neutral colors for the eyes."
