Janine Berdin stuns with her latest makeover.
The grand champion of It's Showtime's "Tawag ng Tanghalan" Season 2 debuted her new look on Monday, October 5, 2020.
Her latest photos were uploaded by ML Salon and Spa, and the post garnered 34,000 shares, 20,000 reactions, and 6,000 comments, at press time.
Janine went for the K-pop vibe with her purple-colored hair, courtesy of the salon's creative stylist San Gibb Valenzuela.
Janine took to Instagram later that day to thank the salon for fulfilling her "anime girl dreams."
She wrote, "hello0o !! thank you so much @ml_salon_and_spa for my hair!! [crying emoji] animu girl dreams!!! Also wearing @pollyanna.mnl hehe good night everyone"
In her interview with Darla Sauler's CATCH UP in 10 Minutes, Janine said she initially wanted to cut her hair short.
She said, "Ang ni-request ko, gusto ko magpa-short hair 'tapos sabi ng people around me, 'Huwag ka magpa-short hair, di bagay sa iyo.' Sabi ko, okay na lang pero gusto ko ng drastic change. Kaya sinuggest nila itong kulay."
Before her major transformation, the 18-year-old singer kept her chocolate-colored hair at medium length.
JANINE IS BLOOMING
Netizens were thrilled to see Janine's beauty transformation.
Some pointed out that she now looks like Maja Salvador.
Others said she resembles Jessa Zaragoza.
A few even commented: "Kylie Jenner look-alike."
Meanwhile, there were others who wondered if she had her nose fixed.
Regardless, the majority of her fans were just amazed by her new look.
In the same interview with Darla, Janine did not address the plastic-surgery rumors.
The Cebuana singer said she may have "bloomed" after embracing change.
She told Darla, "Siguro, naging blooming po ako kasi hindi po ako natakot mag-change. Like, I think that's what everyone should keep in mind: na we shouldn't be afraid of change, na puwede tayong mag-change.
"Na if there's something that you don't like about yourself and you're not happy about it, then you can do something. Do something to make yourself happy, kasi naku, you only live once nga, di ba?
"Do things that make you happy kasi kapag hindi ka masaya sa sarili mo, nagre-reflect... Kasi nakikita ko din sa mga post ko dati, sa mga videos ko, parang nakikita ko din kung gaano ako ka-self-conscious.
"And now, when I look at my photos now, when I look at the videos I take, parang ang saya ko. Parang nakikita ko na ang saya ko lang, parang ang saya ko na sa sarili ko."
In the end, she reminded her fans, "So let's not be afraid of change. Let's not condemn change. Kung may gustong mag-change, ipa-change mo sila. Bahala sila, basta masaya sila. So ayun lang."
Now, Janine is busy with her online classes for her Communication Arts course, as well as hosting and performing at Showtime Online U.
