Filipina entrepreneur Olivia Quido-Co based in the United States has made a name in the beauty-pageant circuit abroad owing to her O Skin Med Spa products.
In fact, her brand became the official skin-care label of the Miss Universe 2019 and Miss USA organizations.
More recently, she was chosen by the Miss Universe Chile pageant as one of its judges.
The California-based skin specialist "attended" the pageant virtually to help select the winners for the evening gown showcase and no-make-up skin preliminary competition.
Recalling the experience, Ms. O (her moniker) tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in a Zoom presscon, ”Ang ganda ng opportunity, hindi mo na kailangan mag-travel, pero nakikilala ka sa iba't-ibang bansa.”
Having seen a lot of beauty queens and celebrities, who among them has the most beautiful skin?
Ms. O gives PEP.ph one answer: Ruffa Gutierrez.
Ruffa was herself a beauty queen who placed second runner-up in the Miss World pageant in 1993.
HOW TO ACQUIRE BEAUTY-QUEEN SKIN
She goes on to say that acquiring luminously clear skin like that of beauty queens is achievable through regular facials.
She explains the whys and hows in a way that may convince even non-believers in the procedure.
"Facials are not just a necessity for those who face people every day like celebrities and personalities.
“Ikaw talaga, kahit asawa mo, di aalagaan mukha mo.
For Ms. O, facials should be done ideally at least once a month, "Sa akin, every 28 days kumakapal ang libag sa cycle bale.
“Parang menstrual cycle ng babae. So kailangan every 28 days, natatangal ang libag.”
For instance, her clients in the States, where she has been providing beauty and skin care for nearly two decades, have been forking over $150 or over PHP7,100 for one facial using a machine called the Skin Analyzer.
$150 at wala pang produkto, with products, $700-800.
“Pag isang set, maybe $1,000. Pero matagal nila gagamitin, mga four to six months."
